Carter still wins since Carter overthrew the shah of Iran, which is, more or less, the root of most of our current problems. But Obama still has 3 years. Iran or South Korean (ooops) getting nukes could well let him claim the razzberry.

But hey! We got Bin Laden!

Carter did not overthrew the Shah of Iran, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini did.

bin Laden is dead, remember? Obama was president when it happen.

There are a lot of studies but it seems to be James Buchanan was the worst.

Bull shit.....if he hadn`t let that murdering bastard into the US(in other words, helped him),they wouldn`t have attacked our embassy.....and all the rest.....

Former President George W. Bush has been the worst president in 200+ years of this nation's history. He started two wars, one of which he could not justify. Created both a deficit and debt which to this date effects the nation. Screwed up the education system with is one domestic action in his entire eight years. An that the concept of 'bushisms' were created to help the citizens understand....what the hell is that guy saying....in any of his speeches (you can find examples HERE. Not to mention his White House was both more corrupted than Richard Nixon and more ignoring the constitution when it was inconvenient to him. This is the president who justified torture as 'ok'.

No he did not, he did not support him with military might is all.  He said you are on your own.

You obviously missed it when the ACLU also came out against them.

Mr Bloomberg thinks he is so much better than us that he can even decide how much soda we can have,

Yes have you actually stopped to understand the medical science surrounding soda's effects on the human body? An that consuming large amounts of it in very little time, can and does have dire effects on the human body? Or are you 'ok' paying more in the future for your fellow citizen's health costs because we felt profit should always out-weigh wisdom?

Yes, the shah was a murdering bastard. Notice any improvement under Khomeini?

He ALSO however: recognized the state of israel, granted woment the right to vote, and increased education.

Yah Jimmy!

I can't say what his views on soda are, but I can say with certainty that in my opinion my rights to "life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness" trump your health care costs.

In other words - you are free to try pay for my healthcare if you want to. Stupid, but you are welcome too. But if you try to take my soda, you'll end up in court & lose.

Oh please. Get out more. O'bama himself called Afghanistan 'the good war'. If thats not enough reason to call it necessary and sufficient than what is? And if it was a good idea why are you bringing it up?

Friend, we have two choices - fight them there or fight them here. And if you understood the bush doctrine you'd understand that dumb as he was bush knew more than you. Bush's choice was fight them there.

The bush doctrine essentially said that if governments would not act to control activities in territories under its nominal control, that the US reserved the right to do so in its interest.

Lets see.. Deficit: Obama has created more deficit than Bush. More deficit than any other president, as a matter of fact. Also as a matter of fact more total deficit than all president up to Reagan combined.

Education.. Bush screwed it up eh? Lets see. Graduation rates in NYC and DC have been what 60% for a generation? 67% of 4th graders can't read to grade level. 1/3 are illiterate. Yeah. It's bush's fault. Despite
a). Schools have traditionally funded at the local and state levels.
b). Bush increased federal funding.
c). The no child left behind act was co sponsored by Ted Kennedy. You know. The arch conservative.

As for ignoring the constitution - you mean like by making recess appointments when congress wasn't in recess, and getting spanked by the supreme court?

As for speechwriting - you're right Bush didn't descend from mount Olympus and say that moment was the moment that we began to heal the planet.

DomKen -> RE: Gun control - FAIL (4/18/2013 1:08:50 PM)

Iraq is the unjustified war.

Bush ignored the Constitution in many ways. To start with his various signing statements saying he would not enforce laws as they were written. Then there was of course the wholly and completely illegal torture of prisoners and the holding of a US civilian citizen arrested in the US in a military prison with charges and without access to an attorney for years.

As to schools, Bush made things worse. He made so much federal support incumbent on test scores, the ludicrously named No Child Left Behind Act, that schools must now spend much of the school year teaching the tests rather than actually giving children and education.

Bush created the structural deficit with his idiotic supply side tax cuts which had already been proven to not work. He squandered the surplus and ran up a debt which we will not easily pay off. As to the blame obama lie, deficit spending was necessary in the face of that enormous Bush caused recession. Since 2009 Obama has actually been reducing the deficit and slowing the growth of the debt.

Disarming the American people - FAIL

(I don't bother calling it "gun control", that's their name for it. It's nothing about controlling guns, it's about controlling the people. I call it what it is, instead.)

Precisely how would requiring background checks disarm the American people? We've had background checks on every retail gun sale for decades now and surprisingly the American people are not disarmed as a result.

And that is exactly why we can't have government in control of healthcare. If Jack Meoff wants to drown his kidneys in shit sugar water, then let the bastard. But, when you make it everyone else's problem to pay Jack's way, then you introduce the government almost having a duty to make sure the money isn't being wasted, that Jack no longer can be unhealthy.

What's next? Mandatory exercise programs? You think soda is bad for you? How about all us couch potatoes?

I'm envisioning something even more extreme.

How about an edict, added at some point in the future that says: " We're looking out for your best interests and making sure that your Obummercare tax dollars are spent wisely.

Toward that end; if you're more than 10 lbs. over what the government says your target weight should be and you have a piece of birthday cake, you'll have to pay an extra fine (although, I'm sure in front of the Supremes, they'd argue that it's a "fat tax") and if you're more than 50 pounds overweight and you do that, you'll get sentenced to a "fat farm" (and let's not forget that fine, please?)

Some of the Lefty lunes (that weren't cursed with a fluctuating weight issue) would be fine with that, of course.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

Strangely no goverment run health care has ever done anything like that.

Also as I've explained over and over again, the ACA is not a take over of health care. it is a bunch of insurance regulations and a mandate that certain people must buy health insurance.

When a very sizable percentage of the nation wants something, one would think the nation's government would understand that failing to perform will result in their jobs being given to someone else. Universal background checks are supported by just about everyone except the NRA Zombies!

We keep hearing all this rhetoric about the sizable percentage of the nation that supports this measure. The last time this issue successfully passed in Congress many of the very people who voted for it lost their jobs. Harry Reid talks about the long memory of the American voting public. Apparently Reid can't remember back to 1994. Apparently, very few of this sizable percentage bother to vote.

This reminds me of the last election... Someone told our awesome President & Vice President some really bad polling data, and they poured their hearts and political capital into gun control. Kinda like the conservatives believing Romney would shred President Obama in last years election.

There's nothing wrong with this polling data unlike the obviously stupid shit you bought into last fall.

When asked 90% of Americans say they are in favor of universal background checks for all transfers of firearms. That does not mean they consider it their highest priority.

Ken, the usual suspects dont do nuances very well. [;)]
