It's true that gun crimes went down and most others didn't change. The claim, however, stated that violent crime would rise. And, in case you missed it, I clearly showed, graphically, that your own government statistics support the truth that violent crimes have increased since 1996. Violent crimes in the US are going down. Violent crimes Down Under are going up. Some like to claim that as gun ownership in the US has risen, crime rates have dropped and the opposite is occurring in Australia. While the numbers may show it, what can't be shown, is that the change in gun ownership is causing the change in crime rates.
