Level -> Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 7:11:43 PM)

http://www.examiner.com/article/abercrombie-fitch-does-not-want-fatties-their-stores

I imagine this sort of "advertising" will draw snotty little shits right on in.

It would be a story if it was only A&F. There's plenty of places that don't want fat and/or ugly folks around, they just don't advertise it as well.

sexyred1 -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 7:35:29 PM)

Please. It is another case of some rich dude, Mike Jeffries, who is really unattractive by the way, to work out his self loathing issues from being bullied in high school.

He has every right to do what he wants with his business, but he doesn't have to be such a visible dick about it. Everyone knows that A&F does not cater to larger sizes and to publically state this just further shows his ugliness is both internal and external.

I could care less for myself, but I know some teens who are upset that they cannot shop their (and they are not fat and ugly, they are beautiful and not skinny).

BlkTallFullfig -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 7:40:38 PM)

It won't bother me one bit, because I've never spent money there, and wasn't looking to start.

There plenty of stores and designers better than A&F making clothing for people of all sizes. M

I just ordered a few items from there online. Why? I HATE going in that store. First, the overuse of cologne gives me a headache. Secondly, the employees are awful towards people. The kids version is just as bad. I rarely shop there, it was pure desperation for a decent pair of shorts, but I'm rethinking shopping there at all now. My biggest peeve: hateful people. Seems to me the CEO has issues.
I agree, many businesses hate 'ugly' people. I'd just prefer them to keep their toxic thoughts to themselves.

I wondered what he looked like so I did some Google
and came up with this ABC News story about him and
his demands for the corporate jet.

http://abcnews.go.com/US/lawsuit-outlines-abercrombie-fitchs-ceo-michael-jeffries-rules/story?id=17519006

By the way this youth seeker is 68 years old and looks to me
like he made a bad choice when choosing a plastic surgeon.

No wonder he is in the running for being the worst CEO in America.
While he has been chasing youth and beauty the stock has fallen nearly 50%
in the last 5 years.

Who wants to wear those clothes?! Eeewww[:'(]

I may go into their store and let out a blistering fart, grab some really tiny shorts, and loudly demand to be shown to a changing room.

Pictures or it didn't happen!

Ugly ass clothing if you want my honest opinion. So frankly the CEO of AF can kiss my size 14/16 ass.

Who wants to wear those clothes? Well, if they're anything like me and would rather not spend hours lurking through all of the department store racks or browsing their hundreds of pages online for a simple pair of shorts (that are not considered 'mom' jeans) and a plain blue tank top. That's the summary of my wardrobe. Except dresses, in which case those are plain blue or black.
Call it lazy, maybe a bit of my ADD thrown in there, toppled with I really don't care enough about where it comes from so long as it fits and doesn't scream 'hey, look at me!!!!'

TNDommeK -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 10:15:09 PM)

I just hate A&F and Hollister. Those stores are the type of stores I used to beat up when I was in high school, lol.
If it makes you happy then by all means, enjoy. I just wanted to add My two cents. However I would like to ask, as dark as it is in that store, how can you see anything??

I've never felt that businesses hate ugly people. Most of the time, I feel like they cannot tell the difference between fat and ugly, which are two entirely different issues (if you consider anyone a lesser...).

Isn't Eddie Bauer a similar store, minus the hate?

I have no idea why I've NEVER been isnpired to go into A&F before. Lord knows, I go into all types of stores, because I LOVE TO SHOP, and my family comes in ALL shapes and sizes (male and female). I cannot think of a singular store, except A&F, that I haven't checked out, and maybe picked up something for myself, or my family. I wonder if they were always set up in a way to make one feel like persona non grata there, or it was just my instinct.

I should have been a stylist/professional shopper by profession, as I am very good at looking at persons, figuring out their sizes, and what clothing would work for their body types, to shop for them. My family concurs. I love to shop. I love to see different/beautiful/alternative/classical styles, to try on different people. I do not know of many brands that I haven't shopped in for myself or my siblings.
I would be upset, if I'd ever spent a dollar there, and loved their merchandise. However, it is safe to say, that I have never patrozinzed the store/online, and they may feel free to be the biggest biggots/idiots in the world (without consideration for the average human being nowadays). I couldn't possibly care less. M

OK, so if I were to put a little more effort into teaching him something, it would be something like this:
You look like this http://www.google.com/imgres?q=brandy,+moesha&sa=X&hl=en&biw=1280&bih=590&tbm=isch&tbnid=cUxH5I08vKAGNM:&imgrefurl=http://home.topnewstoday.org/home/article/2971573/&docid=LcRbZB17iqngcM&imgurl=http://static.topnewstoday.org:8080/i5/3/57/71/img_2971573_340.jpg&w=340&h=371&ei=XeaJUcXcLrSs0AHMoIGABA&zoom=1&ved=1t:3588,r:62,s:0,i:358&iact=rc&dur=1092&page=5&tbnh=188&tbnw=174&start=57&ndsp=15&tx=96&ty=58,
and this is you: http://www.examiner.com/list/8-plus-size-women-that-are-too-hot-for-mike-jeffries-and-abercrombie-fitch?cid=taboola_inbound.

You may discriminate against big, thick, fat people, as ignorance is your prerogative. However, if you discriminate against uggly people, than you should find the nearest bridge (to jump off of), and expect that you will be locked out of your own store my brothah. Wish you peace, and love. M

theshytype -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 10:52:38 PM)

Eh, they're all pretty much the same. Aeropostale, American Eagle, A&F. I truly wouldn't be disappointed if they closed the place down.

BTF, I should go shopping with you then. I'm great at dressing other people and will always provide my honest opinion but when it comes to myself that's a whole different story. I get so frustrated, I just want to walk in one store, find what I'm looking for and leave. Anytime I go to a department store, straight to shoes and bags for me!

MasterCaneman -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 11:01:20 PM)

Once upon a time, A&F was the premiere outfitter for safaris and expeditions. You could purchase just about everything you'd need, from tents to Express rifles. The Real Abercrombie & Fitch

NotSoNormalGuy -> RE: Fat and/or Ugly? Stay Out of Abercrombie & Fitch (5/7/2013 11:05:52 PM)

They target a certain audience and they're honest about it. Wow. That's terrible.

What a story.

Personally, I hate A&F, but my reasoning has nothing to do with what audience they target - I just think their clothes are junk.

Enigma

I have shopped at Aeropostale, and American Eagle before, but would hardly tout them as among the best quality brands.

As long as you're patient, I would love to go shopping together, and give you the best options for what looks best on you. My sisters go in, find nothing. I find them several great looks for them in the very same stores. I've also always shopped for my brothers, though miss some of that lately. M
