Thank you for taking my comment in good humor, as i mentioned i strongly agree with you and at times it is hard not to write to certain posters and suggest that they learn either how to spell or to type. Shutting up about this now, as i don't want to hijack this thread.

  1. People who rubbish other people or their ideas, beliefs etc.
  2. People who always have to be right even when someone who is an authority has just explained something.

LA's going to be one unhappy camper when she learns that 80's clothes are coming back into fashion, and like any recycled trend, holds on for a few years at a time.

ThankYou Masters for letting Me make comment on this issue here, I shant stay long.

Pretty much anything that blatantly forces others to be a part of a scene they have not consented to.

This is where the differing cultures with in the alternate lifestyles differ. In D/s you would only
practice your kink in the bedroom and would feel that outside this space is taboo.
In M/s you would only practive your kink in the bedroom and in a munchie or public dungeon
or event spacific to the scene.
In Gor there is no *scene* persay and what We do is live our lifestyle everyday 24/7 and as
long as We do not take off the leash from the slaves neck and put it on a vanilla passerby We
are not forcing any into Our lifestyles ways in Our eyes. These are the differances in behaviour
within Our lifestyles. This is why Gor is concidered an EXTREAM arm of the Alternate Lifestyles.  JMO

A behaviour I find offensive in public is stealing or theivery.
ThankYou for letting make comment in the Masters Forum.

I would suggest that you are indeed forcing your lifestyle on others JUST AS MUCH as the person with 5 whiny, noisy ill-behaved children is forcing their life on you.

Why is it acceptable to parade around with your slave in public (I don't care if you are Gorean or otherwise) and not acceptable to have loud, intrusive, bratty children disturbing the public peace?  I find both intrusive, and both unacceptable.

We willingly constrain our behaviors in the public sphere as part of the compact we make with society.  Some of us wear clothes, some of us bathe, some of us refrain from smoking, some of us refrain from loud music, etc.  Just because you like something does not give you the right to intrude upon my space.

E.

The following quote was lifted from the "private vs. public" thread in this forum. I believe that it is worthy of a seperate discussion with a wider base..

General reply:

There are just certain displays/behaviors that are not acceptable/tactful in public society-- vanilla, bdsm or anything else in between.

OK so now you all can really let fly and rant about what displays of behaviour you personally find offensive in public. This includes BDSM, Vanilla and anything in between....

Obviously it would differ for everyone.  In my world, arguing, loud behavior of any type, and displays of sexual affection, would be offensive, and not-acceptable in the general public.

IronBear -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/10/2006 5:27:39 PM)

Eating greasy food, vomiting or changing the bub's nappy in front of me when I'm eating..... All guaranteed to bring on CHUNDA TIME! (ermm technicoloured yawn)

Steelriven -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/11/2006 12:12:26 PM)

Well... You asked for it. So, here goes...

People who don't realize that a swear, cuss, word is just a form of extream expression.

People who lack all comon sense.

People who fondle one another in full view of the public. I'm not talking about exhibitionists. I'm talking about regular couples who slop over each other while kids are present.

BDSMers who say they are very open, but see some one's kink and immideatly judge them, and add rude comments. Instead of saying something simple like, it's not my thing.

Very closed minded people, who can't see past their own lives, and faces in the mirror.

Angry, mean people who feel the world owes them something.

Ok, thanks for letting me rant. But if I continue I'll be up to it all day heh.

To the OP:

*Spitting. I never could understand a person's need to spit in the path of others.
**Misbehaved children in restaurants and other public places. Makes me want to shake the parents for allowing such behavior.
***Blatant, vocal, public racism of ANY kind.

Clearly I am a grumpy old man, because I agree with viurtually all of the pet hates quoted - except slow cars in the left lane, but thats because we drive on the left here.  More pet hates? Guys -  who wear baseball caps back to front, and wear a hat indoorsDrivers (male) who drive a Volvo, or smoke a pipe, or wear a hat while driving - take the 3 together and you have an accident waiting to happenAnd all women drivers................. . Apart from that I reckon I am pretty tolerant.........

IronBear -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 8:11:39 AM)

Have to love the Volvo comment Andrew. When I had a couple of Volvos, they guaranteed me a parking spot when neets and I were shopping. I used to put ona white bowls hat (purchased for this reason) and drive into the car park. Even in busy times people gave us a wide birth.... Mind you one thing about the Volvos and Mercedes, on a whet road the stop in a straight line which is good for a 2 ton vehical especially when I've been speeding.

I have a particular dislike for those who are the agressors in Road Rage and Car Park Rage, Hoons who decide to play tag with innocent drivers, try to runn down maitainance crews on road repairs and those with huge woofers turned up full blast after midnight....

slavejlb -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 8:16:51 AM)

Now, now. We all know there's nothing wrong with drunken sluts. They prove to be very useful at times.

IronBear -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 10:53:50 AM)

bklynbbw -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 10:59:07 AM)

All women drivers ???    I...I....I....grrrrrr.     I am going to behave myself and not say what I really want to.....lol

SirKenin -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 12:24:13 PM)

I get offended by people making out in public, regardless of orientation.  I also do not like being forced to participate in a scene that I did not give My consent to.  Other than that pretty much anything goes.

caitlyn -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 12:35:11 PM)

It's sort of interesting that several people mentioned that they find really low cut pants offensive. I'm screwed on that one. I worked my butt off to get abs worth showing, and I'm bent on offending everyone I can! [;)]

IronBear -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 12:43:26 PM)

But I love low slung pants and high tops.. Lots of bare midrifts all deserving a collar....

LongArms -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 12:59:26 PM)

Hear, Hear Iron Bear, well said.  And caitlyn, we do SO appreciate a well turned midrift, so keep up the good work!!

sensualatina -> RE: What behaviour do you find offensive in public? (7/12/2006 1:20:08 PM)

okay.. well i read a lot of posts.. but i never really posted anything.. i'm more of a sit in the shadows and listen type of person .. but.. i feel i HAD to reply to this.. lol

okay.. so [8|] i work at McDonalds... like THAT'S not bad enough...
i despise people who come up to the counter (with a long line behind them) continue talking on their cellphone even after i've asked if i could help them.. and they tell me to wait. First off.. no. second off.. do you NOT see the line behind you?!
i also HATE...HATE HATE HATE children! lol or at least parents that come in with 5-6-7 children at a time.. order a LONG list of food.. (mostly happy meals) ask for a specific toy.. and then once they after get their food they change their mind.. and get confused.. and wow.. that makes me want to set their hair on fire.[:'(]. ( i know.. this may seem horrible.. especially since.. "kids will be kids" but.. i NEVER was a brat running around screaming and fighting.. me and my brother were quiet well behaved shy kids .. eventhough i'm not now.. i was then lol )
ooh and if the screaming and running kids isn't bad enough.. THEY LEAVE A HUGE MESS BEHIND... and an insane mess of buns.. nugget pieces.. paper.. toys.. i wonder if they would like it if i went to their house and made a mess.. i mean i can understand sometimes crumbs are hard to contain and not make.. but big pieces of nuggets?! c'mon people!!!!
i hate rude people.. that say one thing.. and after i repeat it.. they say yes.. that's what i want.. and then once they have it.. they say i put the wrong thing in and that's not what they wanted.. or that i'm missing something... -- make up your mind.. listen when i repeated what you ordered and tell me if that's correct if it's not SAY SOMETHING!!

OKAY.. now that i'm done :) thank You for allowing me to rant  it's such a stress reliever :)

--hugggggs kisses n' such :)
