I wonder about the feasibility of a Fin/Pro Domme sub-forum, although it would probably attract a lot of hostility.

I enjoy interacting with all types of people on the CM discussion boards so I'd hate having a fin/pro sub-forum where I'd feel like that's where I had to stay.

I would think it would be treated like any of the other forums here.
Where anyone could chime in or post.
And someone wasn't confined to just that forum.

Oh, I figured that, but I can just imagine how many posts in other sub-forums going along the lines of, "Go back to your findomme ad sections of the forum and stay there!"

evesgrden -> RE: Findom Problems (6/9/2013 8:51:30 AM)

ok

If I remember correctly that is kind of what happened when they made the gorean forum.
How is that any different than certain people always posting how pros and or findom/mes shouldn't be posting on the forums period?

I didn't know that's what happened when they made the gorean forum. That was before my time on CM.

I don't know, I guess I just always assume those posts are aimed more at the girlies that come in here asking what they can do to slaves or expecting the world to kneel at their feet rather than at those of us who are capable of conversations outside of FD.

There is a place for Pro Dommes to advertise and it comes with conditions.

I think part of it is that they don't want the forums to become a place full of trolling advertisements (never mind free advertising) which is exactly what it would become.

Even the guidelines in the Introductions forum has tightened up to say that personal ads are not allowed.

Why would you feel you had to stay there? Do you not go to the "Ask a Dom" or "Ask a Sub" section? Or the General, Health and Safety, Off Topic and the many others?

Personally, I think such a sub section wouldn't work because while it could be productive, it would, like Kitty said, attract a lot of hostility. If it would lead to the Pros and Findomme who post here trying to drive people to their site and drum up business to stop doing it here, that would be great. Then those who participate in conversations without the need to talk about their business all the time could continue here and everywhere else.

Well, for those who keep trying to drum up business on the boards, yea. But I haven't seen you doing that, so no. Neither does, KD, LS, K, MIP. I would only want the ducklipped crowd and the "I need more business, let me post" types to stay there.

According to some regardless of what a pro or FD posts they are "trying to drum up business". Which I personally think is funny as hell because I was on these boards for years without anyone ever knowing I was a pro.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Findom Problems (6/10/2013 1:03:06 PM)

The only argument I could see for it at all would require that a whole new part open up for collarme. That would be a section explaining the many different subsets of bdsm. Not just fin domming but mommy domming, scat, bondage, etc. Not so much a forum but a section devoted to the idea of just flat out explaining, and perhaps, giving a few examples of both how and why people do said act. I think the reason I said sticky is because, as far as I understand them, they are not open for conversation, name calling, bitching, etc. Of course if they wanted to do it or not is up to collarme and I have no issues with continuing to explain it to people that bring it up on the forums if they wish not to have a define a term section. Though if they did have one when the average person shows up to ask we could all just point them to that section.

tazzygirl -> RE: Findom Problems (6/10/2013 1:22:03 PM)

Then you have to decide who are the experts in each field/subset to do the definitions. I see that causing an even bigger argument. There is no one way.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Findom Problems (6/10/2013 1:30:00 PM)

It took me awhile to get back to this but I feel I just have to comment about it.....

"But the relationship would not exist for you if there were no personal gain of a material nature. You may label that however you like"

I have to ask do the words "of a material nature" really mean that much? The girl on the floor crying...her tears are a personal gain to me. My little honey bee....his blood under my nails is a personal gain to me. When the gentleman in Co. buys me toys to beat the others with, though I have never used them on him, he is of personal gain to me. As I said earlier sex and money are odd things. People view them as forms of power when in reality the only power a person can use against anyone is the power that other person gives them. You said we are welcome to call this whatever we want and in truth you are as well. If I call working with a difficult person a job....then it is a job. Of course I could say the same about a few family members, though I doubt they would like me calling them a job.

The reality of the matter is we ALL do things for personal gain. Be it monetary, objects, or emotions we all seek out what makes us happy and we ask others to give it to us. That is how relationships work...all of them. Be it your "sub, your banker, your own children, every relationship is a "job" and every job done well brings us something we wanted at the start. If it didn't we wouldn't take part in the relationship to begin with.

MissImmortalPain -> RE: Findom Problems (6/10/2013 1:31:40 PM)

Yeah, I pretty much agree with you, Tazzy. I just hate admitting something can't be done.

TNDommeK -> RE: Findom Problems (6/10/2013 5:31:03 PM)

So this wouldn't be a good time to say that I'm doing sessions in the park with a date and time!
TOTALLY KIDDING.

It wouldn't be a park. HAHAHA.

I do think the duckies....hmm, that's what I'm calling them now, duckies. I do think the duckies would be moved from intros to that section, and the whiners would frequent the thread.

TheLilSquaw -> RE: Findom Problems (6/10/2013 6:48:31 PM)

Nope.
It wouldn't be a park but a Wal Mart restroom.
Yep, that is where you are now holding sessions. :)

TNDommeK -> RE: Findom Problems (6/11/2013 12:27:13 AM)

Even better!!

Well, I see it happen less to those of you who actually participate in conversations rather than posting things that try to appear inconspicuous but are for nothing less than trying to drive people to your website, blog, wishlist, etc. The OP of this thread comes to mind. There are a couple of others as well and I'm sure you might even remember more than I do.

I don't really care whether someone is a pro or an FD on these boards but I admit that the "duckies" are annoying because they are so clueless and really just lazy little girls looking to make a buck of something they see as easy money.

See, to me, there is no need to talk about being an FD or a pro unless the conversation would be enhanced by that information, which it rarely is (although sometimes it can be).

From my perspective that is why so many people didn't know you were a pro. Your being such had nothing to do with the conversation, and you (rightly so) didn't feel a need to insert that information. On the other side of that is when something is being discussed and some duckie (I like that term K) pops into the thread, writes, "I need some new pay piggies, who wants to come view my wishlist," and then bolts. Sorry, but they deserve everything that is said to them.

Well, whatever one thinks of 'the duckies'. They certainly generate reams of conversation, don't they?

All hail the Goddess of Ducklips & Luxuriant Hair [:)].

I don't think you can deny that we have some who do exactly that. When a person has a track record of doing such, you really can't expect the folks who are familiar with their patterns to call them on it.

I agree that some do that the ones who do that typically don't stick around long IMO. However, there are some of us who don't do that yet there are those who think we should be walking around with scarlet letters on our chests.
