And my understanding of history dwarfs yours as I have demonstrated repeatedly.

Well at least you have a sense of humour.

Debating history with you is like debating philosophy with a 3 year old , not only do you not have a clue but you don't know when you are beaten.

This started with a great example you declared me to have lost an argument that I was not participating in.

I will continue to converse with you only if you discuss facts and cease your standard tactic of talking down to anyone who disagrees with you. I regret that I began responding in kind.

Here is some history for you... St. Louis Monday... 18 shot...today 4 shot all died...but there was one stabbing so I guess you will say we should band knives as well.

How long do you think you could go stand outside the Whitehouse with an AR14 and a banner saying you wanted to overthrow the President.

It's the White House. Two words. Capitalized. And the only AR-14 in existence is a U.S. Navy Amphion-class repair vessel which was sold to China in 1974.

I sated on another thread that the trend is for crime to drop faster in cities with more liberal concealed carry laws will those cities with restrictive laws have a slower decrease or even an increase. I also stated at that time that the exceptions are St Louis and NYC.
It turns out that NYC has employed many police tactics unrelated to gun control some of which( most notable stop and frisk ) are of questionable Constitutionality.

I have no idea where St Louis screwed up being from north Missouri we always thought St Louis was only slightly better than East St Louis.

You still haven't explained how gun ownership is way up but crime has cut in half over the last 20 years or how the FBI contention that 4 times as many crimes are stopped with guns as committed with them fits into your world view or do you just ignore these facts.

You need to learn to read.

You pulled me up on something I had not claimed. I have even pointed it out to you to no avail. However, if you dont wish to converse with me......BFD.

You claimed we got the 2nd from the British and I merely pointed out that we got it, not from the British but because of them.

No, FBI stats are available for everyone, matter of public record.
I pointed out that this was from a previous thread.
This stat is without doubt greatly unreported I have avoided at least two crimes by being armed and did not report either.

Now you are making stuff up, I didnt make any such claim. Read below.

Well your second amendment was an English law first, as was just about everything else.

And again I was pointing out that the Brits didn't recognize those rights for us.
Remember we started out asking for our rights as Englishmen but England wouldn't go for that.
Your implication was that we just copied everything from the Brits.

FFS I never made any implication, thats just your own stupidity.

I simply pointed out a reply to someone else that we had the right to bear arms first.

You then jumped in and assumed what you wanted to assume.

Well I don't think you had a codified general right to bear arms at all, let alone first, until Parliament finally passed the English Bill of Rights in 1689, and if I'm reading it right, it only allowed Protestants to have arms for their defense, condemning James II for "causing several good subjects being Protestants to be disarmed at the same time when papists were both armed and employed contrary to law".

Yep, is has dropped 18 in the last 20. The aging population has a lot to do with that.

I cant find the source for your FBI citation. How about a link.

We are in agreement demographics, not the availability or control of guns was the cause for both the rise and the drop in crime but no I don't remember the link that was posted.

What I cant seem to get people to agree upon is the access to those who are obviously unstable to own a gun.

“We know his was a troubled life and that he experienced mental health challenges,” Seabrooks said. “We believe that his mental health challenges likely played a role in his decisions to shoot and kill both his father and his brother, to set fire to the family home, and to go on a 13-minute shooting spree spanning roughly 1.5 miles and which left five innocent people dead and three people injured.”

Zawahri apparently built his own .223-caliber assault rifle, using it to shoot his father and brother before he set fire to their family home, officials said earlier Thursday.

And yet no one at the legislative level seems to believe we need to curtail access.

You need to research our history a bit deeper than that. Common law is common law, codified or not it was still a right.
