For girls not happy about their weight, I don't know -maybe insecurities about their BDSM sexuality helped them pile on the pounds? Or maybe lack of confidence lead them to consider a good Dom/sub might help them feel better about themselves (of course still genuine as that's not much of a vanilla thought.) As for the mention of people being abused in the past, some people say BDSM can help them deal with those things, others say the abuse has changed their sexuality in that way, but for some I hope they're not in the scene for the wrong reasons [sm=confused.gif] Though that's a completely different discussion! ...for all the arguments over what people should think of BBWs... I have friends of all shapes and sizes, but I refuse to join the wave of political correctness gone crazy and won't pretend it doesn't matter at all to me for sexuality/BDSM. Personally I tend to go further towards lean strong & muscular for a physical preference in men, but then they've got to be able to pick me up or hold me down, and chase me round the room... [;)] but some guys (and girls) specifically love BBWs, so maybe being seen as a fetish in itself invites out a lot of the girls these guys go for. Its all personal preference really. Probably a thousand more reasons, maybe a different one for each woman, ...Or it could be just coincidence. As far as I'm concerned its great women of all shapes and sizes are happy in the scene, variety is the spice of life! [sm=banana.gif]

Perhaps if one watches the news and health reports there is a huge uprising of obesity in the world today. This is a pandemic, we are working too much eatting fast quick and easily prepared foods and not exersizing enough. This is not just in the kink world but everywhere, nor does it apply to one gender, as was said it is male and female. Rather than posing a generalized question perhaps one could start a thread on what methods are used to ensue the health of your sub/slave?

Okay, all Dom/Dominas must be very fit, look good in tight leather with nothing bulging where it shouldn't, absolutely not drink, fingernail chewing also not allowed as it is a vice, Definately must be very wealthy because they must have total control of their life and if they have no $$ they have no control because they must be spending it on cigarettes, booze and fattening food. All submissives must be very thin and young, never mouthy, subservient to ALL who call themselves Dom/Domina, willing to do anything asked of them because it will prove they are the one/true/perfect slave/submissive. Here is my question, who gives a fig? Really, I mean, if your not attracted to us BBW then dont look. What the heck does it matter? I am big, my Dom loves me and loves my body. I dont care what anyone else thinks of me and my body, he is the only one that matters. My opinion is, if you dont have something nice to say dont say anything at all!

Darn.....just because I'm taller than 90% of both the general population (both male and female), I HATE being referred to as a BBW (not overweight mind you). Can't I just be my weight and only 5'2"? Maybe I'd fit in better here? LOL! It was hard to find a date with someone taller than me. [:(] It only took me until 6th grade to realize that people came in all sizes, colors, weights, etc. AND, my study in genetics in my post-graduate work convinced me of the genetic/weight correlation. It's about time all the adults on this board grew up and discovered this for themselves. As for why we actually KNOW that there are more BBWs here? I would suggest they don't lie like every other dating service. Just sign onto one of them to look for yourself.

I'm new to the whole forum thing so i hope i'm doing this right. whenever you look at BDSM sites you see the stereotype of size 2 women with no sagging in sight. i let my confidence be knocked for believing that Doms won't want to know me and i'm hoping against all hope that not all Doms see that a sub has to be tiny. i believe that the mind is a more powerful tool than a tight bum. please don't limit yourself to the physical because you might be stopping yourself from finding something truly beautiful. thanks for listening

But well, this thread is just way to long and my time to precious. From what I have read though, I have seen that there are alot of well adjusted women/people in the lifestyle, and that there are alot of really smart people in it as well. But, that said, I to have noticed that there seems (not based on fact, just my observations) to be a lot of women that do not fall into that "ideal" body type column. My own opinion on this is, this lifestyle attracts all, from varied walks of life and from a broad cross section of the general public. Therefore, you get a greater number of "real" people. Not model types, all airbrushed and polished, but real people. Neighbours, collueges, fellow perishners. I mean this is a real wide ranging lifestyle. I have met judges, politicians, labourers, lawyers and C.E.O.'s. All real and all the genuine article. Yes some are large (just like myself) and some are not. I haven't the time to enumerate the percentages of large vs. skinny, I've always been to busy playing, enjoying the person not the package. Besidesbeauty is in the eye of the beholder. My hubbies Grand Father said it best "You're gunna miss the whole parade, if you spend the whole time waiting for the pagent winners in the convertable son." That's just this "big" country girls two cents, for what it's worth.

All cultures will have people from extremely thin to morbidly overweight, one is not better nor worse than the other. You will find that most "Americans" are overweight due to fast food, portion control, easily accessible "wrong foods" thru vending machines and the fact that everyone is always on the go and never has time for cooking a home cooked meal let alone sitting down and eating one.
