Are you trying to hi jack this thread into a 'does size matter?' sequel?

LOL catize, no no no. In fact I've been told by the Mods that putting pics in the posts is no longer acceptable, so my gentle attempts at humor here shall cease and desist.

nephandi -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 5:27:46 AM)

i think all body types can be beautiful if the right clothes is worn and the woman in the clothes belive she is beautiful and is confidant, then she is beautiful.

mellian -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 7:43:17 AM)

Like others in the thread, and along others who have some insecurities or/and lack of confidence of their bodies, just feels pointless trying to attract others through the physical only, and in turn sexual interactions. So they naturally seek alternatives knowly or not in other ways to attract someone and have other forms of sexual interactions, which bdsm is one of them, the others being via attitude, personality, character, who you are and what have you done/do for a living, money, position of authourity, and so on.

Six strokes, that is a very good question.  Just the other day, I was wondering why BDSM attracted so many DL men, so many can't get a decent job - but want to be called Lord Sir Master of the Manor and why so many DOM's aren't gentlemen and why are so many of the men skinny?  Big Brothas give a holla! :)

But to answer your question - it might have something to do with the Gorean heritage.  Women of yesterday were considered wealthy if they were volumptous.   Besides have you ever tried impact play with a waif?   Or using a flogger, can or whip on a petite body?

sublizzie -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 8:30:41 AM)

I've been reading this thread since it's inception. People are the size they are because of their genes and their backgrounds. Some people like skinny; some like big. Either way is appropriate for the people who have those preferences. Big deal.

Also, people tend to forget that "no one gets out of life alive." It doesn't matter what your size, you're going to die. Sooner or later, you die. You can go out doing what you enjoy or you can go out being miserable. It's all your own choice. I may choose to enjoy my gastronomical orgasms. You may choose your nicotine or alcohol or meth or _________ as your way of going out, but we're all going to check out.

What?  Don't tell me the idiocy of this OP's stance is going to be pinned on the Goreans as well?

zumala -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 8:34:24 AM)

Good point, sublizzie. Ultimately, this issue is really a non-issue.  Each person does what they want to do and likes what they like.  It basically boils down to common courtesy, I guess.  If you don't like fat, at least be kind enough to keep your opinion to yourself.  Same goes for if you don't like slender people.  You don't accomplish anything positive by opening your mouth and insulting other people.

Hi there this is really an awesome question from y BBW point of view. First i am taking it as a serious question. And that shows me that BBW are more and more being seen and recognized as the beautys they are. Also it shows me that my discussion i have done on the beauty of BDSM to BBW is a much needed topic. I personally am very proud of my curves. So much so I run a store and help women dare to see the beauty that jeans and sweats cover and hide. If you have cable please check into the Oxygen netowrk. Last week was an amazing uplifting eye opening  beauty pageant for FAT women. Hosted and created by famous actress Monique who does not say sorry for being FAT and embraces it. She is working on breakng the myths of being FAT. To her and the women who were in this beauty pageant being FAT means so many different things. It is to be Fat And Thick or Fabulous and Terrific. However you want to use those letters to represent you. They had an amazing turn of women to try out for this beauty pageant all across the country. You may ask what this has to do with BDSM. It has everything to do with BDSM to me personally. BBW have to work ,go shop at the local walmart ect. We have to be around society.BDSM gives us a confidence a place to regroup to  safely bare it all our souls and bodys. So that when we go to work and are secretly weearing a naughty thong at Owners orders .We feel damn good about ourselves.WHen a BBW is able to for the first time at a BDSM party  slowly expose herself its because BDSM and her Owner have helped her break out of a shell. A shell of shame and ugliness. BDSM reveles with each strike of a flogger how strong We are as BBW slaves. BDSM gives a place for BBW Dommes to really show off all they are the control thier sexuality and not have to say sorry i feel so good about myself. BDSM is a blessing. And as long as BDSM is opening its doors and its members are opening thier minds and hearts to BBW.the more you will see BBW's coming out of the closet.

Alumbrado -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 9:22:35 AM)

OK, I have a question...

Why does CM appear to attract more than its fair share of people who cannot read a simple, and adequately phrased question?

I admit to giving up on page 18, but at that point, the percentage of people who were not projecting their own issues, and repeatedly failing to address what was actually said (instead of what they hallucinated), was far slimmer than the percentage of people in the US adult population who are not overweight.

zumala -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 1:29:09 PM)

Alumbrado:  After 18 pages, the topic had already been done to death.  I suspect people started posting off topic in hopes that the entire thread would STOP ALREADY.  [:D]

coc0 -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 1:54:07 PM)

It almost seems pointless to post at this point, but oh well.  In my opinion, you should love yourself for who you are because you've only got one body anyways.  No matter what you look like, there's someone out there who's looking for someone just like you.  I also agree, it's also in how to dress and take care of yourself.  I consider myself to be slightly overweight, and yes, for some it's enough to say "this is who I am, accept it" but for me, I'd rather improve upon myself, ensure I'm eating well and excerising because even if I'm never a sz2, I can say I'm doing my best to look good for MYSELF.  I don't believe someone gets to be unhealthily overweight (300-400lbs) overnight without realizing it.  That's months and years of not properly caring for yourself, and THAT'S what's important.  What a scale says is unimportant, if you know that you're doing the best you can to keep yourself healthy.  One thing I do however disagree with is the label "BBW", I think it's unnecessary and slightly hypocritical.  It's given to make us accept bigger people, but yet, for all the arguments that society favours skinny people, it's still acceptable to harp on someone for their weight if they're 80lbs, but it's "rude" if they're 380 lbs.   How does that work?  People never comment on my weight, yet my sister who eats whenever she wants and can't get over 90lbs is teased by bigger girls at school who call her anorexic and make fun of her for being too skinny.  I also guarantee women would get have comments if she was going around calling herself "SBW" (skinny beautiful woman) because it's entirely different.  If you are truly confident with yourself, you don't need to label yourself as Big and Beautiful, let it speak for itself.

MstrssM4u -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 2:06:55 PM)

why is it that people are so hung up on weight? people don't make you. you make you. Society has us thinking that skinny is beautiful. we are people are all beautiful no matter your weight size. and with that being a BBW is beautiful. i'ts all about how you as a person carry yourself. how self-confident you are about you. I am a BBW  Woman and I love Myself. if u don't love yourself and feel good about who and what you are then how do u expect anyone else to see that in you and feel it. so I say just live life and enjoy your subs/slaves that u have. and for the people that don't care much for a BBW woman, then move on to what u like. But for those that loves us keep coming to Us. Life is good to Me and so are My bois. just thought I would put in My 2 cents.  Ms M

ClassAct2006 -> RE: Overweight bdsm women (7/23/2006 4:16:01 PM)

These threads are so amusing. Those who have a body weight which is bad for their health should lose weight, not revel in their curves. We all accept that is very hard but where possible they should seek to reach a healthy weight, improve their diet and exercise. It's very simple. That doesn't mean I'm  anti-BBW or unsympathetic to it. The US and UK have huge obesity problems which is so sad. It's almost becoming the norm that people are overweight rather than the one larger child in the class at school. We're going to weigh children at school I think in the UK each year and ban chocolate and sweets etc. Massive changes need to be made or we're going to have the first generations to die younger than their parents.

I just learned yesterday how to directly reply to individual people on the threads.

I was being funny Feastie 'cause the OP's query is ignorant and mean spirited.

And my WalMart is full of short people. Nothing against short people. Being a tall woman who would have prefered to be shorter myself.

I really don't want to start a row, but, like my father used to say, if you're going to complain, make sure you have a solution, or shut up. (He tended to be rather blunt when I was young, and I liked it!) For all you know, this was an innocent question, and unasked questions are the dumbest of all. Better to have it out there and have it addressed gently and objectively, then to keep it to yourself and be forever ignorant.

So, with that being said, respectfully, how would  you have asked the question?

Following up: I gave up on page one. It got nasty in a hurry. So much for an understanding community, hmm?

Let me see if I can take an objective swing at it.

Currently, the medical community indicates that approximately 60% of the population is obese. It's a serious health issue, and there are a lot of theories regarding why this is the case. I shouldn't have to mention how much it costs the US medically, considering the additional health problems obesity causes. I'm no stranger to health complications do to a primary health issue, I'm insulin dependant diabetic. However, I'm not obese, but I was border line when I was diagnosed, something like 30 LBS over. I got into shape in a hurry, I had a little girl to live for, and I'd rather have as many resources at her disposal than for my own, so I do my best to stay in decent shape.

But, I digress. Yes, I have seen a large proportion of obesity in a club or two, on both sides of the chromosones, but objectively, what I've seen I'd peg in the 40% range based on what I've noticed, with another 30% I would call borderline. This is by no means what I would call accurate, I can only report what I've seen. I've got theories, but that would only feed the trolls, I think. Speculation by others often gets turned into supposed facts way too quickly. :)

As for my personal preferences? No, I'm not looking for a barbie, but I have a sexual preference to a certain body type that gives me visual pleasure, and that is just as important as the emotional pleasure as well. Fortunately, my preferences are pretty wide, but in terms of a relationship, I'd like to be able to keep the issues down to a minimum, frankly, and my sub's issues become my issues when a relationship forms.

I dont have my own Walmart.
But, if I did, I would fill it with tall, thin women wearing capri pants, white cotton blouses and ballerina flats. Kind of like Audrey Hepburn.
I love that look.

Oh, and Id pay people and decent wage and not import everything I sold from china and build using existing urban sites as opposed to destroying unspoiled land to create great big ugly boxes you can only reach by car.

Why does bdsm appear to attract far more than its' fair share of overweight women?

I didn't realise that there was a 'fair share' of overweight women for BDSM to attract more of.  What would you say would be the correct number of overweight women that BDSM should be attracting?  What about blonde women?  Does BDSM attract too many blondes as well?  Or Jewish people?  What about people who are left handed?

Did it occur to you that there are probably the same percentage of overweight women in vanilla relationships as well?
