I didnt lose my cool... I just lowered myself to someone else's level after watching him in action for months. My post wasnt in anger or frustration. Just the hair of the dog sorta thing

I have lost my cool about 100 times on here, or so, give or take, a few LOL.
Now you had to be feeling something, since you post here a lot, and obviously like it here. I bet you didn't like being banned? BUt okay you didn't lose your cool.

Naaa.. considering Awareness is moderated.. and I was one of the last few to post, of course I would respond. As far as being banned. Liked it? Wasnt a matter of liking it. However, I knew it was coming, I said so in the post that got me banned. I accepted it, didnt post during that 2 week period because that would have simply added more work onto the Mods.

In other words, I accepted what I did and the smack I got for it. When I returned, I made one post, saw I was still on moderation and contacted the Admins to correct it. Once they told me it was corrected, I posted again.

Losing my cool requires someone to actually mean something to me personally. There are few here who touch me on that level.

I've never had any real problem with the moderation here. There have been a few occasions where I was attempting to post to a thread only to have the post not go through because it was closed or deleted while I was composing my reply. But I just consider that to be a minor inconvenience, nothing really major.

I can sympathize with the moderators here. If this is like other forums I'm familiar with, my guess is that they have to deal with situations where hotheads are complaining about other hotheads for being mean to them. Then they might have to pore through threads and posts and try to sort through it all. I've had experience with doing that in other forums. It does get rather tedious.

I realized that there seems to be a certain instinctive need to not simply disagree with someone or present a counter-argument, but there also has to be the added flame, dig, or insult at the opponent. I don't know if it's just a part of human nature or if it's a cultural thing. Perhaps there's a need to express oneself with a bit of emphasis, to demonstrate how firm one might be in their convictions on any given issue. For some people, it's almost as if the flames and insults are a necessary component to the debate, and they wonder why anyone would expect them to "play nice" if they're discussing issues which bring out their passion and zeal.

That's where it can get a bit difficult to make a judgment call, since there are things where people do get angry and have a natural human need to express that anger. My own opinion is that people should try to keep their cool wherever possible and think things through logically, but I can see where strong emotion can get the better of some people and they feel a need to let the flames fly. I think some people might do well to exercise a bit more restraint in that regard, but I suppose everyone is different in their temperament and tolerance level.

One suggestion I've seen used in other forums is a section for hotheads, a "flame pit," so to speak. I see a lot of threads end up locked because the posters get too riled up, flaming each other, etc. Why not just have a separate section where they can cry havoc and let loose the cats of war? All the hot button issues could go in there, too.

As for me, I guess I'm probably more detached from this place. I enjoy posting here and reading the different threads and discussions, and as message boards go, I would say this is above average. Whatever (minor) flaws exist seem more a reflection of the posters themselves, not so much in the moderation or forum management.

~FR~

My only issue with the rules is: If the mods are going to pull posts for commenting about another poster, then on the flip side they should pull posts for trolling.

The other is I have seen some posts a few years back that were pulled after I read them. That poster, who is complaining here, used some of the most vulgar insults I have seen against anyone, and in other large forums it would have gotten him a life ban with no second chances. These forums belong to CollarMe, and the only democracy here is a pedal democracy. That means if you don't like it, just pedal your bike elsewhere.

I appreciate what the management does as volunteers, but they should have an area to send in suggestions that is not a single persons email. That way other staff may look at it and possible improve upon suggestions before they are pitched to anyone.

I just want to say that if you are banned or moderated, it is pretty much your own fault.

A few years ago, when XI was here, I was new to posting and got into with her and acted like a complete bitch privately to her.

So I got banned. My bad. This is the only message board I participate in, so was not sure what the rules were then.

Thankfully, I was let back and I try to stay in the guidelines, even though, sometimes, it is hard to say what those are.

Criticize the post, not the poster, is what I have been told recently in gold letters.

If someone persists in being a complete asshat about their posting style and they get banned because they pissed off too many people, or, even just the mods, that is life on a free kink site. You choose your own behavior.

I appreciate the efforts of the mods; I could never do that job.

I suggest you check your mail for the explanation for why your posts were pulled. (If you did not get a letter, that means the post was pulled because it was in reply to one that required removal.)

Alrighty now Ms. Kaliko.
I'm glad the mods/Lady Alpha got it sorted out with Mr.A, and now your Master can post again.

The big question, that no one has asked is.......... Will it last?
Can he enjoy his CollarMe experiences and stay off moderation?

I hope so.

Peace

Oh come on! You have never got aggravated over posts that are made? WHy you think people get moderated or banned to begin with? THey get passionate over what they are talking about, debate, try to reason, or plain get passionate in what they believe in and sometimes LOSE THEIR COOL. They are in the moment, and it happens everyday on here! The place doesnt have to be that important, and no it isnt that important to me, but I do enjoy coming here.
In the past, I was so damn pissed, I was fighting mad! Just the truth. Now I dont get mad at all, maybe annoyed, but not mad.
Thanks for the advice Rawni, maybe getting laid once a day isnt good enough, I should go for twice!

Honestly? No I've never once been aggravated or annoyed over posts made here. I just think they're funny as hell. I've never been passionate on here either. I've been modded because I said something I thought was funny but apparently others found to be too much for their weak hearts to take.

Like I said, I just find this place funny as hell. It's like watching Jerry Springer.

It can always be sent to support. Actually, when I want to ask the owners about something, the mods know I run it past them. I have always done that., as a lot of past mods can say that in addition to the current ones.

Let's say that you manage/own a restaurant.

Let's say one of your customers called your employee a "mealy-mouthed, worthless, asshole-enabling, rancid pool of pig's vomit" and you removed that customer from your restaurant.

Wouldn't you expect that customer to speak to you - as the manager/owner- before you let that customer back into your establishment?

I don't see that as ass kissing. I see that as owning your shit and assuring the management that you will not be doing it again.

^^^This.

If someone gives enough consideration to a matter, there is always a way to say what needs to be said without being a jerk. Some people don't have filters to determine what is appropriate and what's not. I prefer not to be exposed to those people.

As for Awareness/TAFKAA, I've had him on hide since I got here in '09. Love the hide feature, thanks to whomever set up the site design.

That is what I was wondering, actually. Although I took someone's advice and put him on hide.
