Assume - to make a complete idiot out of yourself or another person by saying that something happened that didn't.

My guess is that you probably would say no, if someone asked if you had been in prison. But my guess could be wrong

No, being the smart ass that I can be sometimes, I would probably say yes and wait to see their reaction. If you judge everyone by their past, you can almost assure you will have a future that is alone.

It will probably depend on the past, not everyone can escape their past easy. Is it not  therefore you have what is called third strike
