And looking a bit weird here though -

As part of a deal signed last week in Washington DC between the Russian Emergency Situations Ministry and FEMA, Russian officials will provide “security at mass events” in the United States, a scenario that won’t sit well with Americans wary of foreign assets operating on US soil.

According to a press release by the Ministry of the Russian Federation for Civil Defense and Emergencies, US and Russian officials met on June 25 at the 17th Joint U.S.-Russia Cooperation Committee on Emergency Situations

Isn't democracy Muslim style a hoot...Lets just hope the US is smart enough to stay the hell out of their civil war...Both sides will be looking to us as someone to blame...and more people will die than if we just stayed out of their business.

Arm the rebels to the teeth and sell popcorn.

Then arm Mosri, if he needs it, and sell more popcorn.

Ask Libya and Jordan if they want in (on opposit sides)

Sell more guns, and more popcorn.

[It] doesn't need to work out for him.

Just when has the US really given a shit about any of this when all of the Muslim middle east was under dictatorships ?

The right in the US has kowtowed to any and all dictatorships if they didn't fuck with or threaten us so the question is just more partisan shrill.

Fucking laughable........ First you pissed and moaned because the Islamic Brotherhood got elected, now you piss and moan because the Army have told them to shape up or ship out.

The fact Obama wasnt involved in Mubaraks overthrow seems to be to much for you to bear.

Which is a fuck of a lot more they are doing over there about their government than we are about ours.

Course our largest problems are the legislature and supreme court.

I'm still hopeful something decent comes out of all this mess. It was too much to expect that the Egyptians would get it right the first time.

The army seems to be behaving very carefully and is taking pains to not stage a coup, or to make it look like they are.

I'm still concerned that the Shiites and Sunnis may try sectarian violence.

But seeing as how Mursi was being increasingly repressive and hostile to the Western world, I'm happy to see that he's going.

Right? I mean, the US didn't get it right the first time, either. Hopefully they're going to figure out what they need to do to make democracy work right for them. I'm glad at least that they're committed to it.

There isn't really that big a deal in Egypt. The Shia make up only at most 2 million of the nation's 85.

While the Shia are not terribly popular in Egypt I think the Sunni extremists are more likely to go after the Coptic Christians if they start attacking people for sectarian reasons.

democracy does not work, unless by that you mean fully empowered police state with no escape.

I have said this MANY times, not here but other places, the islamic community has no use for democracy except to vote for a theocracy!

A bit of confusion in these events. Is it good they had a democratic vote which the Islamists (theocrats) won OR is it good they had a military coup which is a rerun of autocracy? Maybe stumbling steps toward liberal ideals of liberty. Maybe too early to tell. Somehow the OP thinks this is a negative for Obama. But it is just another demonstration of bias on the OP. AS IF his Republican candidate for president was a solution to anything except population decline. Some conservatives will never get over the election of the first black president with a Muslim middle name.

and I do not dissagree with anything you just said...
I agree probably the point of the title and link was to put egg on obama's face...

but that still does not equate to "now you piss and moan because the Army have told them to shape up or ship out."

one is saying to obama/dems "seeee I told ya so"
the other is saying "you'll whine no matter what happens"

LMAO! The history of these threads shows both statements are correct.

OK thats fine, but I haven't been around here long enough to know these things, who will whine no matter what etc etc etc

and based on the POST and the reply to it, he is attacking the POSTER not the POST itself...

he is saying doesn't matter what you wrote, I KNOW YOU and you are a whiner

in another thread I saw a mod say its ok to attack the POST, but NOT the POSTER...

I didn't make up these rules!

just sayin...

I have seen another person here who seems to just barely skirt the edge of this rule by just IMPLYING everyone who disagrees MUST BE STUPID

doesn't come outright and say YOU ARE STUPID, but implies stupidity by saying if someone disagrees they must be stupid

I find that petty and immature and not at all conductive to an intelligent conversation/discussion

and to be honest I am on the verge or just leaving these forums for that very reason

no point in trying to speak with people who's main argument is I'm rubber you're glue, what you say bounces off me and sticks to you
