Well, I used to believe in Santa Claus and the tooth fairy, but I fail to see how those are related to General BDSM.

Well, aint you just a special snowflake! Ask your friends to help you with this one, tell them its on a board for kinky bdsm and sex, see if they can walk you through it.

Until last year, I totally thought people could tell when you had sex.
I also believed people could smell your period. When Iwas a lot younger I thought you could get pregnant from even non intercourse activities.
I believe a lit of wacky things though. Im by nature a bit gullible. Those are the only two that come to mind as relevent and nonsituational.

I dunno - didn't Santa use a whip?

and for a short while, I believed that you could get pregnant by running through long grass on a hill towards an attractive man. And I blame it all on the movie we had to watch that was supposed to educate us about the birds and the bees.

Look sometimes people really can smell your period, that's a fact jack. Change those pads or tampons kiddos LOL.

I used to believe step on a crack, break your mama's back...........and that maybe be where is whole bdsm story started, but not sure.

ha, that's really funny! I have a friend like that, and she is the sweetest thing on earth and actually smart! But when it comes to basic stuff, she is a complete hoot! Entertains the hell out of me.

When I was very young (four, five or six-ish) I believed that dogs were the male of the species and cats were the female. That haunts me to this day, considering my mild, non-professional success with animal husbandry.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

The person who introduced me to bdsm and D/s told me that the only "real" form of it was no-limit slave hard core everything. Then I read a book called As She's Told which confirmed everything he said and scared the crap out of me.

I accidentally stumbled on the forum side of CM, then read non-stop for a few months. That and talking to several experienced people finally persuaded me that maybe other ways of doing this are possible too.

NOW THAT IS JUST ODD. LOL.
Heres one, equally as odd, but its about imagination. YOu know the Keebler elves, that did all the work in the old commericals? When I would eat as a kid I would imagine there were little men with shovels, and conveyer belts, and little buckets on hooks, whistling and working, as soon as I swallowed the food.

That's a great and interesting one, DS, and in truth makes sense when you think about it.

Might you have had seen more men with dogs, and more women with cats as a child?

Just wondering.

Time to get serious now...When I was in kindergarten, even at this young age, I was very logical and always looking for proofs in life. I had just learned about Santa and was questioning all the beliefs I had acquired in my few years and this included God. The birth of a cousin gave me my answer and for the next year I preached my new proof of the existence of God. And that was that God placed babies in the tummies of mothers and that was proof of his existence.

Maybe I was not so wrong...but dad had to straighten me out how it happened earlier than he intended so I would stop preaching.

Well, scuse me....having read the thread, I am embarrassed to be the only person who didn't have a BDSM sexual answer.

Oh wait, most of them are not related to BDSM at all.

I am so ashamed and guess I will lose my special snowflake status.

Please remember this was almost 20 years ago, my screen name was, god I cant believe I am addmitting this but is was master of pain, please dont repeat that!

God the stupid shit I believed and the morons I rrspected as,"real" are often the ones I see as the most shallow no

Punishment is important

Real slaves are all downcast eyes, standing in various positions, and if things are not all ritual they arent real.

That they guys with strings of ever changing girls were cool

I still think flogging is service and subs get the better end of that deal.

I think a huge one for me was realizing that I didnt have to be right all the time nor did I have to decide everything to be dominant.

When I was a child I believed that no two people could have the same name. After all, what's the point of a name if two people have the same one?

I saw the movie Peter Pan, and a short time later I introduced to a young girl named Wendy.

I got into a big fight because she refused to tell me anything about flying or what Peter Pan was like.

Her parents thought I was being snarky and it took a couple of hours for everyone to realize that I really thought she was the Wendy from Peter Pan.

I don't know if I can answer your question. I never thought about it that way. I had birds and freshwater tropical fish when I was growing up so, a point could be made about how my experience was that males and females all looked very different in the animal kingdom.

I have to say I'm not really sure. I do know that the first time I saw two cats, fucking, I was disabused of that very wrong belief.

Peace and comfort,

Michael

What the fuck! You mean that's not true?!?!? Now you tell me ;)

I believed leaving scars was bad - now I am sad when they eventually fade

I believed kicking and punching were abusive - now I crave that type of play

I believed to be slave you had to be weak and mindless

The impressions we get from the shit that's out there :)
