and yes, the pathologist and ME screwed up also.. again, that i base on the evidence in the trial where they didnt do things they should have, etc.

So.
Exactly what should they have done (other than shoot Zimmerman on spot, or perhaps plant/fabricate evidence).
Turn him over to the lynch mob, perhaps?
They did it by the book, they testified honestly, and by doing so they pretty much conclusively proved Zimmerman's innocence.

kdsub -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 4:26:03 PM)

I said I would withhold my thoughts on reasonable doubt concerning Zimmerman and the charges of 2nd degree murder until the prosecution rested and Zimmerman's defense had a chance to present their case. Well to me at least the trial has reached that point.

I believe that with all the testimony there is reasonable doubt...No one is exonerated... yet... there is no definitive proof of guilt. I just do not see how fair minded people on the jury with a life in their hands can convict.

Yes there are contradicting testimonies and oddities that don't seem to fit Zimmerman's story but there are just as many that don't fit the prosecutions explanation of events. I would be more worried if there were no mistakes or oddities because this often means a contrivance.

There will be no agreement among those on this board or in the country as to guilt or innocence but I find it hard to believe that any of us if on the jury could say with certainty there was no reasonable doubt.

Butch

So, what do we do about Zimmerman and his lost year? Should he civil sue somebody? Who? Somebody overdid this for political reasons and that somebody needs to be held accountable for his loss of Liberty for political reasons. And I don't mean Al Sharpton and the other Media cronies because our Justice System must not be sensitive to that and something needs to happen to never let this happen again to a citizen who should never have been brought to trial. "George" she called him, his black and obviously intelligent and articulate neighbor. George needs justice too.

Of course. Everyone seems to believe this trial ends it all... and it doesnt.. as plainly evidenced by OJ's.

O'Mara has indicated he will seek immunity after the acquittal to protect George from civil action.

tazzygirl -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 5:08:59 PM)

I am so curious as to what his immunity would be based upon.

farglebargle -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 6:03:10 PM)

How does any of this stuff change the essential facts:

1) That Zimmerman provoked martin by following him (or some other way), losing his right to self defense

2a) That he didn't exhaust every effort to escape. or
2b) That his life wasn't reasonably in danger.

Hey....

One of the down sides of killing someone......I guess. No?

Whether he walks or does a few years, George is going to be a tragic character, like OJ is........

Whatever happens, we`ll be hearing about George again in the future when he fucks up again.......because win or loose......George, like OJ,is going to continue to be a fuck up.

tazzygirl -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 6:16:53 PM)

And his past will now haunt all his future interactions with others.

Maybe when Ted Nugent wins the 2016 gop presidential nomination, George can be the nra`s new spokes person.[:D]

I see a perfect fit.

Arturas -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 6:39:51 PM)

If George is innocent then he is innocent. Hopefully George will not be plagued by the year he spent without his freedom under the persecution of those who would judge him without cause or facts. As we know now, George was hurt, a misplaced nose that was set before he went to jail and bleeding in the face and the back of the head, so those who pointed to jail pictures and swore there were no injuries were flat wrong and of course we knew that. But, time will tell, a few short days actually, but would you bet against Zimmerman, sorry, I mean George, at this point, after the trial has effectively ended?

This is the story you keep telling. Nothing more.

OJ was found "criminally innocent" too.

I hope George somehow get's his and his family's life back together and he does not let this destroy the life taken from him these months, without his wife and without basic liberties. Perhaps he is innocent. Perhaps he is not. We will all see very soon. In any event, one can say with certainty now that Trayvon was not evil and one can say after hearing from so many who actually know him that George is not evil or racist also. This is a tragic occurrence but soon we will know if it was a crime. Very soon.

This is what his fans and Sean Hannity will be saying as they cry about how unfair the world is to poor George.

It`s already written and in the pipeline.

There is no "too" here from what I see. How do you equate the two?

Sweet. Probably so. Truth sucks sometimes.

Its your insistence that George will be found innocent. That is what I was equating.
