Personally, I don't care which side wins the case. What I hate to see is a whole bunch of ill informed idiots, usually with ulterior external motives, axes to grins, old feuds and political viewpoints, form lynch mobs of judgement based on insufficient evidence and little to no proof. You know, kinda the exact opposite of the blind judgement ideals that arfe supposed to occur in a court.

The markings the fatal bullet left on Trayvon Martin's sweatshirt and body supports George Zimmerman's account that Martin was on top and leaning over him when Zimmerman shot and killed Martin, a leading forensics expert testified today.

"The medical evidence is consistent with his statement," Dr. Vincent Di Maio told the Florida court.

Di Maio said that the pattern of powder burns on Martin's sweatshirt and skin indicated that the shirt was two to four inches away from Martin's chest when he was shot by Zimmerman.

"Mr. Martin was over him, leaning forward," he said.

"If you are lying on your back your clothing is going to be against your chest," said Di Maio. "The clothing is consistent with someone leaning over the person doing the shooting."

So anyone who still wants to claim that Martin was shot from above, or from 8 feet away, etc. is certainly welcome to do so.

I remember saying the same thing last year to much vehement disagreement. :)

I dont remember any of that at all, who made those claims of 8 feet away or from above?

I figured that was more in line with TOS, than telling someone to keep up with what has been posted already.

In any case, it still boils down to the facts admitted into evidence so far. And precious few of them match the claims of many of the self anointed experts here.

I was referring to what he quoted Di Maio as saying, that the forensics are consistent with Trayvon being on top of George. I've been saying that for a long time, with much disagreement.

Powergamz1 -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 2:05:50 PM)

So with much of the hysterical speculation debunked on the record, the legalities still boil down to what a person in Zimmerman's position would have been logically feeling at the moment Martin allegedly grabbed for the gun.

The witnesses that were supposed to destroy Zimmerman's credibility merely went on record as contradicting documented reality (such as the number of bullets, the location of the fight, their own earlier claims, who did and didn't use the N word, and so forth).

The witnesses whose testimony supports the defense also happen to be in synch with the forensics, official timeline, medical reports, recordings, laws of physics etc.

At this juncture it seems equally likely that Zimmerman is essentially telling the truth, or that Zimmerman is telling the truth up until the point he panicked, pulled the trigger, and made up the story about Martin going for the gun.

I suspect that the only person who knows that for sure is Zimmerman. If the prosecution had proof beyond a reasonable doubt that Martin didn't do what Zimmerman claims, the time to enter it into evidence has passed.

Unsubstantiated and imbecilic asswipe needs no homework, it can be dismissed and derided out of hand.

so you admit he made up the story about Martin going for the gun.. so why should anyone believe Zimmy's story about it beng Martin that started the fight in the first place? You see, when someone has been proven to be lying, other parts of his version also are very likely lies.. after all, he knew the law & what kinda story he needed to tell to cover his ass with the cops..

Powergamz1 -> RE: Zimmerman III - Should the jury have a manslaughter option (7/9/2013 2:36:03 PM)

Then you should have no trouble proving that it is asswipery to assert that someone here on CM had claimed that Martin was shot from several feet away.

Those facts and the autopsy report establish it pretty conclusively. He shot Martin from several feet away.

I haven't admitted anything, I've speculated on 2 possible sets of circumstances. Nowhere in the entire history of this issue have I ever said, or even hinted at anything else.

Do you have anything at all factual related to this case?

Oh really? Are those the words ("...do you own damn homework. I dont jump through your hoops." ) someone uses when they can't back up their claims?

Or are you simply going to ignore the link proving you wrong?

you have admitted it is possible he lied about grabbing the gun, which means its possible he lied about other things also.. it has been proven in court that lied about not having knowledge of SYG, it was proven in court he took a class on SYG & knew the elements needed for that defense in court.. that he lied is a proven fact..
