Breaking news .....

On CNN Newsroom Tuesday, it was revealed that a potential black juror had been struck by the prosecution for committing the crime of being a Fox News watcher (video follows with transcript and commentary):

A black person watches Fox News? Of course there must be some mistake. Must have been a white, black person.[;)]

Jesse Jackson Urges U.N. Human Rights Council to Investigate Trayvon Martin Shooting

It’s time to call on the United Nations Human Rights Commission for an in-depth investigation of whether the U.S. is upholding its obligations under international human rights laws and treaties

The fact that you have such a problem with the notion that any person of color could ever be innocent until proven guilty, is what's wrong with your rhetoric.

I have said nothing that in anyway could be construed as thinking that "any person of color could ever be innocent until proven guilty..."

Nothing.

Show me where I have. Demonstrate to me how an opinion on one case can be construed so broadly. It can't.

That is simply you spouting bullshit because you can't handle the fact that someone dares to disagree with you on this case. Well, I do. Deal with it.

I have made the difference between what is known and what is my opinion very clear right from the start.

George Zimmerman saw a young man walking down the street and presumed he was up to no good, thus starting a chain of events that led to that young man's death. Any person of decent conscious and awareness of human nature and human history at least suspects that racism played a role in Zimmerman's initial presumption. Pointing out those aspects of our nature and our history is not racist in and of itself. It is not pathetic dick waving (really Lucy, I expected better from you). It is honesty.

Deal with it, people.

Maybe for all of you it is an abstract, an interesting conversation to have on the internet, a chance to vent the spleen at some faceless strangers. To me it is the very real possibility that my grand-nephew may one day be the young black man walking down the street when someone sees him and thinks "these assholes they always get away." It is the very real possibility that he may end up dead on the ground and other people - heartless people lacking all compassion - will actually justify it by saying bullshit things like:

"He didn't get along with his mother."

"He didn't do well in school."

"He owed a polite explanation."

"Black people cause more crimes."

And other pathetic nonsense.

I'm done with this thread.

There is nothing more painful to me at this stage in my life than to walk down the street and hear footsteps and start thinking about robbery. Then look around and see somebody white and feel relieved.... After all we have been through. Just to think we can't walk down our own streets, how humiliating.

If it was a FOX news watcher, they just didn't want to have someone drooling in the jury box.

See-this is the debate I think we should be having. How did this case become about racism? Why did it?Why did it sit for two weeks and then explode? What forces pushed this and why? Where is the responsibility? Who fueled this false fire and what's their reasons/goals for doing so?

The Rev Al Sharpton and his collegues at MSNBC who I used to watch and listen to quite often . . . until they began ranting and showing the pic of a much younger Trayvon . . . and we ended up with a 21st C version of Bonfire of the Vanities. A PRESCIENT READ

For those who speculate on why Trayvon may have reacted the way he was alleged to have done, enter homophobia...

MORGAN: And he was freaked out by it?

JEANTEL: Yes. Definitely after I say may be a rapist, for every boy, for every man, every -- who's not that kind of way, seeing a grown man following them, would they be creep out?

Do you not understand that it wasn't homophobia but the fear of rape? Or are you saying all homosexuals follow young men around in a creepy fashion?

Also, Drudge? Really, that is your source?

Ah .. we've now located the entire source of the problem. You don't understand what 'evidence' means. Zimmerman breathing heavy might be evidence of being out of shape - but it is conjecture (guessing, wild-assed speculation) to call it pursuit.

Zimmerman admitted to pursuing Martin on the call to the police. He also admitted after he killed Martin that he didn't stop when the dispatcher told him to.

A following not pursuing

B if Zimmerman should have ignored police advice to carry a gun as you said how does ignoring advice not to follow make him a murderer?

I didn't say it did. I am simply pointing out that dawg lied.

Sounds to me like a great idea, since the US will not.

And still she made no attempt to find out what happened to her friend that night.

I have not been reading and watching every and all possible news stories about that so I have no idea what she did or didnt do to find out what happened, if she tried calling or not, or if Martins cell was broken, battery died, out of range, etc.. or if she had any way to contact either of the parents.. and I am not really too sure what relevance that has, it is obvious she did not want to come forward at all or testify.. I can not blame her for that.. The cops had Martin's cell and if it wasnt broken in the fight, what was their excuse for not using it to find his parents? or friends? the last numbers he talked to (& time)? or is that what passes for good police work? but again, I do not know if the cell was working or not so I am giving them all the benefit to guess it might have been broken/broken apart in the fight..

And of course George didn't actually "admit to following after advised not to."

You did say he should have ignored police suggestion one time and taken them as the word of God the other (and no you didn't use the phrase word of God).
Pursuit means intent to apprehend lacking evidence to make that statement.
