The princess.

ooo... I wish I could read some news on this before I head to work! I am not into idolizing public figures but I find the pictures of them together always make me smile. They always look like they love each other. I hope the birth goes easily and that the baby is healthy.

Yep, the whole nation is rejoicing. I know this because I read it on the front page of the Daily Express.

Is this going to mean a return to the Thatcher period?

Not that I am not happy for William and Kate, I am. Having a child is a great thing if you are in a loving relationship.

However my news feed is littered with stories about the big event, to the point I am almost believing it was a spectator event.

All that is important are a few things, boy or girl, health, weight and does it hold its pinky out when it is nursing.

After that, how is the mother, were there any problems other than the mass of media outside the delivery room, and did Prince William pass out during the event.

Of course I get irritated when a celebrity has a kid and it is treated like the second coming or something.

Since neither royalty or celebrities are of a different species than the rest of us humans, why the fuss? Another child is being born into a world that is nearly over populated, polluted, and the international problems are close enough to be a major threat to human civilization depending on who is the next country to get the bomb, are the banks going to crash again leading to more economic chaos, and the fact that reality based programing is expanding world wide.

I was born during the cold war. The biggest worry I had after getting old enough to think about it was the Soviet Union pitching some nukes into the states. Now considering my father was in the US Airforce, there really was not much to worry about. I either lived on or near the target, and after the flash I would not exist any more.

Kids born today have to worry about what is in their food, air, water, diapers, toys, used on the grass in parks, not to mention terrorists, rogue states, and again reality programing.

Children should be allowed to sue the previous generation for the crap they have been left to clean up.

Any way, congrats to William and Kate, glad to know that some other couple is going to go through the joys and tribulations of parenthood. Hang in there, because if you are lucky, your children with produce grandchildren that you can pump up on sugar and then send them home for the parents to deal with.

I hope it is a girl, and they name it Dianna. I think it will be a girl- but will be named Alexandia. (?? possibly after AJ?-- JK JK)

perhaps you need to get the non-British version news feed.. [;)]

You Americans just dont get it.. this couple are not celebs.. this couple is.. ROYALTY!!! [sm=cute.gif]

(I am from Western Canada.. we love our Royals..)

OsideGirl -> RE: Kate- went into labor- (7/15/2013 5:40:01 PM)

I believe the front runner name with the bookmakers is Alexandra. Alexandra was the name of a Princess of Wales/Queen (wife of Edward VII) and also the name of a current cousin of the Queen.

It would be really nice to see the name Diana incorporated if it's a girl.

Yeah, we do. The Social Register still exists. The difference is that most listed in the book would consider it tacky for TMZ to know who they are.

pahunkboy -> RE: Kate- went into labor- (7/15/2013 6:09:40 PM)

I had to google that.

Let me try again.

We dont have titles. Supposedly all men are created equal= as we do have a Constitution.

You're not part of the nation because you're not British. Peon is from the UK.

I think you might have missed what I like to think of as my dry wit there, LGH. [;)]

Nobody I know cares. But that won't stop all of the papers and broadcasters here barking at us about how we're all as ecstatic as a skylark that's swallowed an MDMA factory over it.
