She's not been having an easy pregnancy, apparently. She was hospitalised with 'hyperemesis gravidarum' - a kind of extreme morning sickness that can be quite dangerous.

I've been through this. It is truly not fun.

Travolta I think is mixed up in Scrientology- as was the lady on King of Queens.

I wonder what sort of talent brought the Kardashians to TV.... oh yeah, sex tape.

Yeah, but celebrities are celebrated because they have some kind of talent that makes them popular and entertaining.

tammystarm -> RE: Kate- went into labor- (7/16/2013 10:05:24 AM)

Also her being bff's with Paris Hilton or her father being A high profile attorney.

garyFLR -> RE: Kate- went into labor- (7/16/2013 10:11:35 AM)

Being something of a Royalist, I wish them all happiness, & that everything goes without a hitch.
The only downside is that there will be no proper news for at least a fortnight.

As we are discussing the pregnancy of a British Princess, can we not say that :- Kate went into LABOUR [:)]???

But what does royalty do? I suppose there might be some entertainment value in all the parades and pageantry, but other than that, what's the point?

There are various reasons, depends on who you are, I guess and your background.. there are a lot of people in various parts of Western Canada that come from British stock.. My first boyfriend was a combo British & Scottish.. every weekend we would visit his grandparents and have tea (Earl grey prefered) and cookies (shortbread prefered).. it sorta became a tradition.. thats what the Royals are,.. tradition.. its a connection to our (meaning Canada since i am from there) past.. even tho I am not British or anywhere near, but I dont feel I have to be cuz its part of my country's history and heritage.. we didnt boot them out like you guys did.. And our govt asked us if we wanted to be free of the Queen as our figurehead and the majority of us said no, we want to keep her & our Royals.. (ok, ok, so Quebecers mostly disagreed with the rest of Canada but that's what Quebec does.. [8|]).. The Royals come in real handy for ribbon cutting, christening boats and opening ceremonies for stuff like the Olympics, they help various charities too, of course... and they are smashing to put on our (now plastic) money.. Seriously, what more could you ask of the Royal Family? they give sooooo much of themselves!.. [:)]

Okay, you've convinced me. Now, I think we should have our own royal family here in America.

Better still, let's have an Emperor!

Once we get the Death Star built, no one will ever challenge us. The American Galactic Empire will spread across the galaxy, with our wise, benevolent, and powerful Emperor leading us to greatness and glory. [;)]

I could never figure that out either. Who really cares about the Kardashians, Paris Hilton, or the various meltdowns of Lindsay Lohan? I guess it's kind of like watching an auto accident. You don't really want to watch, but you just can't help yourself.

And of course, if there's a sex tape involved, then that will spark everyone's interest.

We do.

along with a bunch of czars.
