Hill, I think "intelligence" and "education" are two differant subjects.
Wasn't it Mark Twain who said; "I never let my schooling interfere with my education?"
I do think atheists would tend to be more intelligent though than the general population, I don't know if "low intelligence" people would even be thinking about God much anyway.

That's why I separated Intelligent and educated with "or"

Actually, in my limited experience, people of lower range intelligence tend to obsessively think about God.

Well , you have the issue that you got pat robertson, had jerry falwell, mitt romney, The guy over there white baptist or whatever, billy graham, and like that...........you are gonna need several thousand religious einsteins to dig out of that hole.....

Yeah, some of them do but there's also people in the higher range intelligence classes who do also.
The "obsesives" tend to stand out and seem more "visable."
I was talking to a very intelligent woman on a dating site a few months ago who was "obsessed" with God, "I'd like to meet someone who wants, "The Lord" as the head of the household." So of course I decided to have some fun with her.
"Sure, I'd like to be your Lord and Master."
"I'll have you read a passage out of the bible then tie you down to the bed and "punish you" for your sins!"
She; "Huh?"
