All politicians are lying scum bags, some slightly less reprehensible according to your view.
Power and money will fuck the reg people over but there is no change, never has been and never will be, the people with money, the people with power will just get more of it.
The people that win "the revolution" will abuse it. The poor will be used as shields, the rich n powerful certainly wont suffer for it.
Ive said this for many years, yet I remain a liberal,dem/what ever label which denotes compasssion for those being trodden on

I'll feel better when these damn extra dogs are out of my house, and I've spent a few days getting peacefully loaded with my 2000 year old therapists.

Keep the ass shots coming though. They don't hurt.

How many of those GOP hopefuls have spent eight years in the White House? Served in a high profile position when the crap hit the fan many times while in the White House? Rated #34 in Men's Health Magazine as the 'toughest male in the USA' (beating out a stunt man that was in 324 car crashes, and another shot 47 times). Very intelligent, cunning, and will have Putin on his knees begging to be spanked....again!

Not one person in the GOP really has a chance against Mrs. Clinton. Not even the Governor of New Jersey whom appeals to moderates but is not 'fascist-conservative' enough to get the GOP nod. Love or hate her, she will be the next president. Besides, could you imagine Bill at all the 'ladies functions'?

Did any of that matter in 2007/8?

I heard a Rand Paul interview on NPR. He would have been right at home in a collarchat P&R thread.

There are several right wing regulars who are smarter and think more deeply.

Agreed, Rand Paul is hardly my first choice, insanity tends to run in the family.
Hillary would be an upgrade from Obama

Well put. Hillary is the ultimate insider, and would basically constitute a sequel of Obama. Rand is kinda nutty and a genuine maverick, who would have the entire country in gridlock almost instantly.

Getting a grasp of the 2016.

In alphabetical order.

Why nobody worthwhile

At this point it looks like this
Democrats:
Hilary Clinton
Joe Biden

Republicans
Rand Paul
Ted Cruz
Marco Rubio
Rick Perry
Rick Santorum
Chris Christie
Paul Ryan
Scott Walker

I assume some longshots will join both races. I do have to say the Republican crowd is not terribly inspiring.

Any reason that Gary Johnson and Jon Huntsman didn't make the list? I could stomach them much better than any of the rest of the GOP field.

I like Huntsman, but it might be best to give it a few cycles, before putting the eggs in a Mormon basket again.

I voted "stay home," at least for now, since a lot can happen between now and 2016. It's really too early to tell at this point, although it should be interesting to see how things shape up after the mid-term elections in 2014.

If the Democrats and Republicans offer those two candidates in 2016, then I'd like to see who the third party and independent candidates might be. Perhaps some popular and well-known personage will come out of the woodwork and run as an independent.

Back when I was a kid, I used to have a poster that said "Snoopy for President." If that had been a choice, that's what I would have chosen.

Neither is raising money or spending time building a campaign operation in Iowa or New Hampshire. The Republicans on that list are doing some or all of those things.

Out of curiosity, do you believe that either the republican or democratic party denotes that?

In my mind your statement equates to "I'm voting green".
