FR jumpthrough

Rand Paul has attrated the support of the big money. the folks at AFP no longer trust him. I haven't read his Father's column lately but I doubt it is going into any of that. No matter how strong the elder Paul's convictions, they probably do not outweigh the thought of "My son the President".

All that they talk and all that they say means nothing. Save the power of the executive order the President is not much more than a TV news anchorman. The future history's path has already been planned by those who are able to plan it. The only exceptions are unscheduled wars and/or revolutions.

I doubt even Egypt was a totally independent act. Nothing so far was, even Syria, fuck, they went to Syria and started the shit and when the government defends itself then they scream all this shit about human rights. My fucking ass. If they gave a shit about human rights they would be bombing totally different places and if you pretend not to fucking know that you are a hypocrite.

Take Iran, they will never nuke anyone because they are to close and unlike Americans they do respect the planet just a little bit. Even with a bomb it would be for self destruction. Go ahead and pump oil out of the bequeathed glass parking lot bitches ! They won't give up for the same fucking reason that I would not sell any gun ever for any reason. That would be their deterrent against western aggression, which has happened alot in the last couple hundred years. you would be a fool to sit on all tha toil and not want to have nukes, lest some big bully comes and takes over your country and banks and what was once a rich land is besaddled with debt and shit.

Fuck, if I were President of Iran, in light of the colonialistic aspirations of the axis powers I would stop at NOTHING to have a nuke, and I wouldn't even need a missile to launch it.

If human rights or threats were the issue, we would be bombing North Korea right now. To pretend to not know that is beyone hypocrisy. Come on, they got whole towns that are prisons. If you laugh after hearing the leader died you went to prison or worse. What;'s more they have demonstrated that they HAVE nukes and intend to use them on the US and are seeking a delivery system to directly attack the US.

but Iran who has no nukes yet, is not fucking with anyone, is the target. ONE mis-translation and Israel is hopping all over using that as an excuse to goad the US into sanctioning and attacking Iran, which is a peaceful country.

Hillary Clinton is a warmonger, she might as well be a republican for al it matters. Rand PAul is a stated republican and they typically attack countries. I would have supported him up until he got certain backers, so that's the end of that.

My candidate is "None of the above". (think I'll see if I can pick that up on the net somewhere)

T^T

This may be very difficult for alleged liberals with no core values, Obamabots, and the foreign cheerleading squad to wrap their wee minds around, but I have one of the same problems with Rand Paul that I had with the original Obama campaign. Rand is a first-term Senator without any executive experience. I'd be happy to see him beneath a good Republican governor on the ticket.

Should the election come down to these two, I think Hillary would be an awful President, and would cast my vote and support accordingly.

After all, one lasting accomplishment that can never be questioned for President Obama, is how far he lowered the bar for who can President of the United States.

.....and just imagine...still nowhere near as low as GWB...arguably the worst, most arrogant ignoramus and criminal to ever occupy the white house. Millard Fillmore wasn't president long enough to be the worse anymore. After W...ANYBODY is qualified to be president...and I mean anybody.

Clinton and Rand will differ much in the campaign...none at all except around the edges once elected. They will both do what they are told to do on the big matters...they too want to stay alive. GWB was the ultimate useful idiot...Obama, the intelligent idiot.

The Republicans will do everything within their power to destroy Hillary in the next 18 months. They have a lot of material to work with going back to when Bill was Governor of Arkansas. Whitewater, Vince Foster, Hillary's role as an enabler during Bills various sexploits, and anything else that can be used against her will be revisited the second she declares her candidacy. She will have a lot more to answer for than just Bengazi. Joe Biden, on the other hand, is the Democratic Dan Quayle.

The Republicans really don't have a clear favorite yet. Their real problem lately hasn't been fielding viable candidates as much as strategy. Republicans spend so much time fighting about which candidate is more conservative than the others that by the time the dust settles no single candidate is popular enough to win. This is really the obstacle that the Republicans need to overcome, not who is the odds-on favorite 3 years out.

Besides, there are a lot of names on the list missing in the Republican equation. There has already been talk of a Bush/Palin ticket, but a Palin/West or Trump/West ticket could solidify the base enough to get conservatives to the polls.

Those tickets, which will never happen Palin is using cons to make a living not be a real leader, would certainly drive turnout up amongst Democrats and independents so as to vote against them.

Agreed. Also, that race to the far right in the primaries is going to hurt them in the general election. The United States, while somewhat conservative relative to other developed countries, just isn't that conservative. So either they've got to change their positions between the primary and November and look like flip-floppers (e.g., Romney), or they've got to stick to positions that will alienate the moderate Republicans and independents they need to win.
