No. The only time I ever puked from the flu was after getting a flu shot. I was in the military at the time and did not have a choice. I've told the VA to stop pestering me about it. I've had colds since, but IIRC, I haven't had the flu. I take Vitamin D. I get my levels checked in the fall. Randomized trial of vitamin D supplementation to prevent seasonal influenza A in schoolchildren. ...CONCLUSION: This study suggests that vitamin D(3) supplementation during the winter may reduce the incidence of influenza A, especially in specific subgroups of schoolchildren. This trial was registered at https://center.umin.ac.jp as UMIN000001373.

You couldn't pay me to get a Flu shot... I cringe at how much most do not know about big pharma & what's in these shots. Why would anyone get one? Keep your gut healthy by eating live probiotic foods & drop 80-90% of the processed foods. I also make my own homemade Kombucha, which is rich in probiotics. All disease begins in your gut.

I have to get it, we're required to in the field that I work. We're told not to get it till October so that it lasts the entire season.

No. I got it for 10 years in a row, I had the flu for 8 of those 10 years. Fuck that.

Of course I will get a flu shot. I used to get the flu every year and once I started getting them, no flu ever again. I also got the shingles vaccine last year because my Mom got shingles and I would not wish that on my worst enemy.

(Bit of a side track but...) I got the Hepatitis vaccine earlier this year, and another tetanus shot, (haven't had one since I was 11). I'm probably a bit behind the times on vaccines, what are some good ones to get now? I wouldn't get a flu one, just because I get over stuff like that pretty well... Although we had a swine flu outbreak in aus not to many years ago which kicked my ass! Still, the old immune system won eventually. I am interested in what other vaccines there are for stuff that the immune system can't beat though, I don't know much about shingles, but red's mention of that made me wonder what else is out there, immunisation wise.

Yes I will get it. Before I started getting the shot I used to get the flu pretty much every single year. Since I've been getting it, no flu. The older I get the more I realize my immunity is not what it used to be and I'd rather be safe than sorry. Plus it costs me nothing.

I think I'm going to this year. I spent the last flu season paranoid I was going to catch it. I'm thinking about getting the shingles vaccine to. I eat very healthy and do all the natural things I can to stay healthy and up my immunity but I'm still pro vaccinations. Hey, even Dr Oz says get a flu shot

I'll get the pneumonia and another tetanus in two years. I do them when I hit a decade, it makes it easier to remember when I'm due. But yeah, I need a shingles although I could wait a year or so on that till the grandchild is in daycare and likely to bring it home. I don't have to be as careful about tetanus as I used to. Since horse manure is a strong vector of tetanus, and we don't have a horse anymore so we're less likely to be exposed. With horses, you get them every ten years and any time you've been cut if it's over one year.

Yeah, that'll be big "no" for me. I'm afraid I don't put any big-pharma products in my body without some sort of pressing need. Too many risks.. too little credible study... no thanks.
