Agree about that.....in a way i am like that.....more like a non sexual slave....it was more the bondage(steel bondage) which lead me to this lifestyle and not the sex part.....Also i am not a masochist so i don't enjoy pain either..... Could be a maid in chains...Hehe.

OK - this whole post made me roll my eyes - there are some things I agree with, but , lord, if every dominant relationship ran like this, there would be less of them.

especially the bit about laying out clothes. If I had/did that for my Sir/sweetie there would have been questions about my sanity. Because both believed that I could dress myself appropriately.

Master actually wants me to one day to go through his wardrobe and weed it down and buy him nicer clothes. Personally I think he already dresses well but I also go shopping with him and he asks me what I think. Would he mind if I set his clothes out for him? Probably not. I did it for my husband. I never found it a big deal. Master has told me if he likes an outfit or not. If he says he doesn't then I never wear it again. If he tells me he remembers a certain dress and he wants me to wear it then I do. I don't think he would have a problem picking out my clothes and I wouldn't mind since I'm his and I wear what he wants me to.

Everyone has their own perception of what is a good or true Master.

As a sub and from personal past experience, within parameters set at the start, a 'true' Dom is comfortable with who he is, takes what he wants when he wants and cannot be 'topped from the bottom'
I like him to be caring and respectful but if he shows weakness, I walk away.

I got the Big Guy a T Shirt that says "Alpha Male" on the front because I thought it was funny. He thinks so too, so he thought it would be funny to wear to our local social. It was like waving a red flag in front of a bull.

Everyone must be judged by their accomplishments. If the potential Dom accomplishes the task of bringing you under their control only over the phone so that when you meet them you are already their submissive then you have got one. If you have doubts before meeting them, you have weeded him out.

A few years ago, there was a lot of "dommlier than thou" and "subblier than thou" competition on these boards. I stated, 100% seriously, that I was going to hire a professional leatherworker to make me a badge that said "Fake Dom" and wear it to a major event. So far, I haven't followed through. My guess, though, is that if I ever do it, it will be quite a conversation starter.

And really, it's a little bit more than dating. First you need to find someone who isn't a complete douche. And THEN you can explore whether he has that kind of strength you are looking for. Finally, you find out if he competently performs whatever kink you require. It's dating with a couple more protocols--and since the sex is typically more in depth (with relationships that consider sex part of the negotiation), it actually takes a little longer to get "into the sack".
