Tetra-Pak milk cartons. It's impossible to open them without spilling some. The thing's so flimsy, when you pick it up, it squeezes in, spilling yet more. From half a liter, you're lucky to even get 3 teas out of it.

Those blue pump up air beds. Got a downy fabric on one side. Instruments of torture. They always deflate at least twice during the night, puncture very easily too. They draw heat from the body, rather than insulating it, so if you haven't woken up from the cold, the deflation leaving you on the ground probably will. But should neither of these completely destroy your nights rest, the rash the sweat inducing downy fabric gives you, certainly will. It gets you in an evil triple-pincer movement.

Spineless people. If you're brave enough to cause trouble make sure you're brave enough to back it up.

pfffft. Miami drivers make both of you look positively sane.

DesFIP -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/27/2013 6:33:11 PM)

You've got a valid point there. However lots of retired Jersey types move to Miami.

jlf1961 -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/27/2013 7:05:03 PM)

I have all you beat, we have an air force base here, and we have freaking drivers from all over the country add to that the idiots from in town and you have a recipe for chaos on the roads

slavekate80 -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/27/2013 7:10:43 PM)

The traffic around where I work. At rush hour it's so bad that exiting on the far driveway and taking a 5-mile longer detour usually gets me home faster than taking the more direct route.

Lint clinging to my black shirt.

My coffee maker, which is usually very convenient and good, randomly brewing a weak cup about once a week. No reason. Same amount of coffee and water in it as always, but it comes out looking like tea instead of strong black coffee.

The absolute arrogance of those that know that they are "right", which you would realize, if you had any sense and listened to them.

littlewonder -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/27/2013 7:35:35 PM)

The Baltimore Grand Prix. The roads are torn up from the beginning of August until the end of September which means it takes me over 2 hours from the train station to get home from work when it should only take me 20 minutes.

People at work who do no work whatsoever and just stand by and around my desk all day long yapping. Thank gawd for headphones and a smartphone.

People who want to make conversation with me on the train and/or bus when they obviously can see I am wearing headphones which is the universal sign for "leave me alone".

DesFIP,my step dad is from New Jersey and even he admits the drivers in Memphis are worse...plus a large percentage drive without license or insurance making it even more fun in an accident. Hill,I know anywhere with a large number of senior citizen drivers can be interesting but at least they knew how to drive at some point in their lives and remember from time to time how to do it...far too many in Memphis never learned how to drive correctly in the first place....[8|]

littlewonder -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/27/2013 7:48:53 PM)

According to Forbes, DC-Baltimore area has the worst drivers in America and believe me, you can tell. I swear most of the people on the road here don't even have a license to drive.

wasn't there already a pet peeves thread? now maybe it may have been a really long time ago.

If you're riding so fast in a pedestrian area that my standing still suddenly causes you to park you bike in the crack of my arse you're not riding safely. Ring a bell at me and I'm likely to poke it up your arse, it's really that simple.

As I said, the Greenbelt is for pretty much all non-motorized traffic...foot traffic and wheels alike. If you aren't willing to share the pathway I'd be more than happy to run you over. It's really THAT simple.

I didn't say I wasn't willing to share the pathway, but it sounds like you've already decided you have more of a right to it with your threats of causing injury. Hit me with your bike and you'll have to have the framework surgically removed from your hostile arse. It's really THAT simple.

DommeGoddessEva -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/28/2013 1:32:31 AM)

People who honk their horn constantly at 7am. Get out of the car and knock on the door or even ring your friend to tell them you're outside. The whole street doesn't need to know you're there.

MAINEiacMISTRESS -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/28/2013 2:09:16 AM)

In Maine we occasionally get bad drivers visiting from below us. We call them MASS-holes.

needlesandpins -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/28/2013 5:08:30 AM)

the fact that when my neighbour and her kids are up they seem to think the whole world should also be up. she makes no effort to speak quietly when outside and then wonders why her kids are the same. her language when she speaks to them is appalling.

people that think they are better than me just because they have more money than I do.

If we lived fairly close by, I'd swear you had my old neighbors. We lived in a duplex, them in the other half, and I swear our bedroom window was going to shatter one day from all their front door slamming. We've had some awful neighbors but that family won second place (first place is reserved for an even worse family).

I haven't counted how many times I've shaken my head in agreement reading this thread, but it has been a lot.

Another one of mine: overly perky people first thing in the morning who seem bent on converting everyone to perkiness. Keep your overly-blinding sunshine away until I've at least finished my coffee.

nuttin2it -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/28/2013 7:04:08 AM)

FR

I don't know if it's been said, but people that hurry to get front of you while driving, then slowing to make a turn.

MasterCaneman -> RE: Things that really bug us..... (8/28/2013 7:04:12 AM)

In that vein, my new next-door neighbors. They have a child who apparently can only communicate by screaming at the top of his lungs.

Oh, and before I forget-the asshole who thinks its funny to go into the dollar store and ask for a price check. It was funny when the comedian on cable did it ten years ago. It isn't funny now, it's fucking annoying, especially when my back is killing me and I just want to finish what I was doing and go home.
