Yes, and footage can be faked, it can be altered, and it can be misleading. Do we know if these boys are truly guilty? No, not until a trial. They could get off on a technicality. Then what?

Okay, the police, pushed to make an arrest, get the video footage and alter it, removing unidentified African-American teenagers, replace them with ones that have records for assault and other violent crimes, having somehow gained footage of these two they can identify in the same parking lot at the same time but on another night, edit it in, making sure that the same cars are in the parking lot so the footage has continuity.
Sounds plausible.

I wonder what would happen if the police were to blame the dead vet?

Well, I guess we'll see...

One of the kids is claiming the victim was a drug dealer.

Okay, now this is a bunch of fucking bullshit!

quote:

“One of these individuals was pretty much a standout basketball player -- and because nobody wrapped their arms around him, nobody cared enough about him, he’s now going to face murder and robbery charges,” Straub said. “And, probably, he’s looking at the rest of his life being significantly affected -- if not destroyed -- by this.”
Delbert Belton's death: 2 Spokane teens to be tried as adults

I grew up with out much physical affection, lots of abuse at the hands of my father, but the only people I killed were when I was in the army and under orders.

This is a bunch of crap. These two chose to be what they are. Maybe if they had more discipline they might have made better choices.

Not what I am saying at all, and I think you know that. What we often see as "proof" later turns into something else. Is it likely in this case? No. But without a trial, are we really willing to kill people for what we assume is a crime? At least with a guilty verdict.....

Of course not

ST. LOUIS • A judge threw out the main evidence against a former St. Louis police officer accused of beating a handcuffed teenager, finding Wednesday there was no one who could authenticate a video that allegedly shows it.

The judge also ruled that St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce’s office violated the very court order it had sought to keep that video from being disseminated by releasing still images of the footage days before the officer was set to go to trial.

Of course. Shit happens to evidence all the time. Basing your lynch mob theory without a trial is insanity.

As I told you earlier everything I have said is dependent on conviction.
That and further evidence could change my view.
I find it interesting that you find people believing them guilty just because they have a tape of them committing the crime and a letter written by one of them excusing the crime a lynch mob mentality.

quote:

Having them die the same way would be better, and televised or in the civic center with every fucking teen thug with a conviction for assault forced to watch so they know what will happen to them.

quote:

they should be publicly beaten to death and it should be carried on national tv.

quote:

Yes but it will never happen.

quote:

These gang bangers and street thugs are beyond redemption. You aint going to turn them around and set them on the road to being good, law abiding individuals. They are little more than animals, preying on the weak, sick and elderly. In other words they are predators, and predators of this sort do not change, they get worse.

Solution is simple, eliminate the threat. And forget the cruel and unusual punishment crap, execute these animals in the most painful, torturous way possible.

quote:

Un fortunately they have earned the label of animals, unless you prefer what I consider the more accurate term of monsters.

Many of these sentiments I remember being told about when growing up... most related to lynch mobs in the south.

And everything is dependent upon CONVICTION nobody regardless of how horrible they feel this is are suggesting that anyone do anything outside the law.

Oddly enough, when we started all this, conviction had yet to enter the discussion.

It was a given for most of us.

Only in the South?

It's a good thing Northern lynch mobs were more intelligent and always got it right.[8|]

tazzygirl -> RE: Strange that this never hit the forum.... (8/28/2013 7:54:11 AM)

LOL I grew up in the south, Hill.... people who grew up in other areas can speak for those, but I cant. Didnt mean to imply that it didnt happen elsewhere. Just that it wasnt my mileage.

I was kinda wondering because the most recent lynching I could find was a couple of years ago in that magnolia encrusted antebellum mansion covered town of ...................wait for it....... Dover Delaware. http://thepeopleschampion.me/strange-fruit-in-dover-delaware-police-and-public-officials-may-have-suppressed-lynching-allegations-to-aid-obama-reelection/

Just saying. [:)]

Cleary that was in reference to those found guilty of crimes like this.

Interesting quote in which I condemn prejudgment

quote:

Burden isn't on Zimmerman to prove self defense. It's on the State to disprove it.

and you dont understand burden of proof in the legal sense. simple and clear as that from your many posts attesting to it.

Your position presumes guilty until proven innocent.

The last line and only the last line is mine.

tazzygirl -> RE: Strange that this never hit the forum.... (8/28/2013 9:10:15 AM)

And yet here you are, prejudging
