They shouldn't be complaining because we see violence against men in mags/media all the time? We see men objectified all the time?

Citation needed.

From what you people are saying in here, I am guessing the same applies to the feminists protesting against lad mags?

They are pathetic whiners too?

Oh there's a double standard.

I can just imagine, you people would be singing a whole different tune if a person made a thread in this forum about the lad mags article.

Well, rather than bitching that you're being picked on with a double standard, perhaps you'd like to spend less time whining and more addressing (rather than ignoring) the points that have been raised about your initial, strangely unconvincing, point?
We're still waiting for an explanation of how some bint with a novelty song on youtube is receiving more media support than bands with record companies pushing their output, after all.

And just for you Nick....
http://news.sky.com/story/1121505/lads-mags-told-to-cover-up-for-co-op-shops
I think Sky News is a little more credible than a Youtube wanna be protest singer (who the fuck is she again??).
The Co-operative has given the publishers of 'lads' magazines' an ultimatum to cover them up in "modesty bags" or face having them removed from shelves in 4,000 stores.
Titles such as Front, Loaded, Nuts and Zoo - known for their pictures of semi-naked models - have been given until September 9 to deliver the magazines in pre-sealed bags.

This wannabe singer had 7 plays on a vague music show??
Sheesh. No comparison.

So I see NO double standard at all.
It's all in your lonesome little mind.

Lad mags have been about for decades.
I don't see YOU posting about them as an 'injustice' to women.
Oh no, you just want your own PoV about feminism to be plastered all over every thread you visit and comment on even when the thread itself has nothing to do with feminism or injustice.
You have a unique way of twisting everything around so you can spout your own brand of bullshit.

As someone said earlier, if it was any other person bringing it to our attention, the dialogue would be very different.
When you, personally, get off your lazy ass and DO something about it, we might just listen.
Just whinging and whining on a BDSM site (which isn't really a relevant place to moan about it) just makes you look an ass with the attitude and single-mindedness of a petulant child.

I haven't seen Nick's posts (only those that have been quoted by others) as I have him on Iggy  :)

Would a song ever be shown on your mainstream TV that was about a man shooting women's vaginas because he got unwanted attention from them?

You've yet to prove the song was on your mainstream TV while I showed a video of a band on the Fox network performing a song about killing someone because she bitched too much.

Now, that's a reasonable one and I agree it's misandrist and mainstream. Have you complained to the channel?

Probably. We have seen women being beaten up, shot elsewhere, driven off a cliff in a car's boot, stabbed, electrocuted, zapped with lasers, mutilated, beheaded and various other forms of choreographed aggro, so why not that one?

So that means the feminist protest against lag mags, the same standard applies? They shouldn't be complaining because we see violence against men in mags/media all the time? We see men objectified all the time?

They are just asking like whiny school girls?

Or are you going to flip flop, flip flop :D

Can you actually cite a recent feminist protest against lad's mags, if you're going to keep dragging your own thread off topic with that one?

No, on that one he's correct- http://www.theguardian.com/business/2013/jul/29/co-op-lads-mags-ban-sale-censored

Well, in the sense the campaign exists. The link with a YouTube video by a bedroom artist is somewhat more tenuous.

Moonhead -> RE: Feminist song openly calls for violence against men (8/29/2013 5:02:31 PM)

No he's not: last time I checked, the co-op was a retailer, not a bunch of feminists staging a protest. Kids are cited as the reason for hiding the photos of ladies who can't afford many clothes on the magazines' covers, rather than whining feminists.

naughtynick81 -> RE: Feminist song openly calls for violence against men (8/29/2013 5:02:49 PM)

As I see, another classic diversion tactic is now in play.

Make the topic about me as for the "what are you doing about it" tactic instead of keeping the topic about the actual point.

I have never ever seen in my whole life a woman being criticised and asked "what she is doing about it" when she complains about female issues.

This only applies to men as it seems.

It's also supremely stupid to place responsibility and blame on the man who raises awareness of the issue instead of the people who are actually doing the wrong action.

I've made my point and people keep desperately trying to skirt around it with diversion tactics. I've done all that I wanted for now. It's up for you to acknowledge and see what this is really about.

I'm done.

Lucylastic -> RE: Feminist song openly calls for violence against men (8/29/2013 5:04:13 PM)

The supermarket chain says that the move is in response to growing concern among its members, customers and colleagues about the exposure of children to the overt sexual images on such front covers which, despite the retailer's efforts, are still sometimes visible in-store.
feminism? hardly

If you scroll down a bit, there's a "Lose the Lad's Mags" campaign run by some feminists.

And there's no indication that this has had any impact on the co-op, or anybody else.

you are not raising awareness, you are ranting...raising awareness is doing something constructive, constructive would be writing to the people playing the song and complaining, or writing to the artist/loosely termed.
We see what its about Nick...and you were done a while ago, you just refuse to understand why no one is whinging with you.

I wouldn't say that. Look at the byline. And as someone who's worked in PR, the kind of Guardian coverage this has been getting is going to make a lot of companies a bit jumpy.

(Heh, I'm kinda amused by the fact that I'm way better at making Nick's arguments then he is. It's probably a feminist conspiracy. They've emasculated him and made him a shit poster).

Guess this missed Nicks attention...

What Nick also conveniently overlooks is the female artists video is in response to the persuasive attitude of "women being nothing more than sexual objects".

Would I applaud a woman who decides to shoot a man in the crotch for comments? Nope. But I can see that day coming.

MarcEsadrian -> RE: Feminist song openly calls for violence against men (8/29/2013 5:09:55 PM)

Are there songs about violence against women? There certainly are. I'd be remiss to not cite a song from one of my favorite metal bands.

Agony and ecstasy
Your cries of pain my pleasure
To know my machine internally
Your torment will I treasure

Lifeblood combines with semen
Your screaming my laughter
The compressor is running smoothly
'Tis vengeance, well, I am after

Type O Negative–Prelude To Agony

I must admit that the video you linked to doesn't seem to have a clear equal in the reverse, though perhaps there is one out there, somewhere. That aside, is there a bias in entertainment and media where male genital violence is concerned? There seems to be. Culture at large seems to think it's pretty funny, and that is a bit peculiar. But where media is concerned, that's not really what concerns me much. Depicting men as daft, clueless, and incompetent morons in commercials and the silver screen is a recurring motif I find a bit more irksome, frankly. But this, too, shall pass.

He most certainly does.
He's sooo far up his own anal region he hasn't noticed the feminists who protest about abortions.
He obviously hasn't seen the myriad of programs about millions of women in various countries who are mutilated on a daily basis because of religion.
He ignores the general plight of women in loads of middle-eastern countries.

Well... He might have done.
But all he wants to do is stir up shit for his own feministic brand of complaints.
He does nothing else. He's no better than a troller of the first degree.

He's staying on my iggy list.
