You get a ton of messages from:
1. Submissive men of all ages, begging you to do different things
2. Dominant men of all ages (lots of these too, competition is fierce)
3. A moderate amount of messages from Female Dominants.

All of a sudden you have 10 pages of messages in the 1st hour! If I was a girl (and my girl had a profile on here before, i went through the history), i would pick and choose to the 10000th degree.

Why?

Because you can.

I think anyone that thinks otherwise is lying to themselves.

As long as someone understands all of this... they have a shot wrangling a "submissive", getting a slave is in my opinion much more difficult, less supply, tons of demand.
Also profiles without pictures tend to be more real than those with pictures.

The fact that you are a couple prompted this response about your observations.
We are also a dominant/switch couple (but not interested in finding a third).
When I had a CM domme profile, I soon discovered males calling themselves slaves meant basically two things in the 80-90% range.
One is those intent on finding a fetish delivery system in exchange for room and board. 1-2 primary fetishes or kinks.

The other was that they should have listed themselves as subs rather than slaves because they had never had a Mistress before.
While you say fake, I lean more toward considering these subs inexperienced newbies.
Meaning the limit of their experience is watching FemDom porn for wank fodder. Fantasyville.
These are the ones most likely to flake off or be no-shows for that first intro or inspection meeting.
The experienced slaves send out long, drawn-out form letters in minute detail. Pfft.

I cannot comment on results for female subs or slaves, which is what you both are seeking,
other than what bi/lesbian friends have told me (about bi/lesbian subs).
More than 50% of male subs are not for real, more like 75-80%, since many are married or seeking on-line kicks.
(This does not make much of a difference to fin-dommes or pro-dommes, but it does to most other dommes.
After all, BDSM is more of a business to them as opposed to a private lifestyle.
I have no issue with those who operate a business under the guise of D/s
other than do not act like you [in general] are not a BDSM provider delivery system.)

Most often, I had no idea what these off-the-wall subs looked like,
other than photos of body parts which should have been kept under wraps.
About a third of those I asked (1%?) balked at sending a facial pic.

Do not lose heart. It is a sifting process, and there is no way around it.
I did not find my lover (straight male switch/80-85%sub) here, but that does not mean you will not have better results.

Edited: A good number of female profiles - whether sub/slave, domme or switch -- straight/bi/lesbian -
are not those of actual females but of males, I have learned from others.
