ORIGINAL: CTLoveslave ".....President Obama Urges Congress to Vote Conscience on Syria, Even If Public Opposed By DEVIN DWYER and JONATHAN KARL | ABC News – 2 hours 19 minutes ago ......ABC News - President Obama Urges Congress to Vote Conscience on Syria, Even If Public Opposed (ABC News) President Obama today conceded that he could fail to convince the American public to back proposed U.S. military strikes against Syria, but said that members of Congress should vote to approve the action anyway. "It's conceivable that, at the end of the day, I don't persuade a majority of the American people that it's the right thing to do," Obama said in response to a question from ABC News during a solo press conference at the conclusion of the G20 summit in St. Petersburg, Russia. But, Obama said, members of Congress need to consider the lessons of World War II and their own consciences and vote 'yes' to authorize the use of force, even if it means going against the opinion of the majority of their constituents. " *************************************** I do believe the Congress is supposed to be a representative body of the PEOPLE. Not only do major polls show the American people to be anywhere between 68 to 74% opposed to this idiotic intervention idea.....but now President Obama has reached a new high water mark on the Absurdity River - comparing initial American reticence to entering WW2, to the reticence to enter in the Syrian civil war. How anyone leading a world power can possess such a sorry lack of perspective as is necessary to make THAT comparison, is beyond belief. The man is becoming the laughing stock of the world.....and America with him. No wonder Putin looks so good at the G20. Look what he is getting compared to. CTLs World War 2? Doesn't he ("The man from nowhere") mean World War 3? HE doesn't own the congress, The People do!
