ORIGINAL: Edwynn Considering that the incident didn't take place in Alaska, please expound further as to why you have any point to make in that, or what bears in Alaska have anything to do with a three yr. old child inadvertently shooting herself 2,000 miles S of Alaska while going the natural rounds for her age in investigating what her fathers toy was about, potentially killing other people in the campground in the process. This wasn't a 'rough and tumble' place, it was a very popular and crowded campground in a public park, with the usual amenities. OK, I'll do that. Just as soon as you tell Me how that death, or your absence of a firearm because of it, is going to protect you while you are in the woods in the middle of nowhere. See, I really *do* live in a place where deaths by wildlife outpace death by firearms. Not the state overall, but definitely in the parish where I live. Anit-gun folks never seem to want to talk about that. They also never seem to want to talk about little facts like there really are places that people live where roughly a third of the people in the entire state, according to the Alaska state game and wildlife service, have purchased a hunting license within the last three years in order to hunt game and feed their families. So, what I asked you to do is to put yourself in the position where you might see things differently. While I definitely have sympathy for the loss of that child, such sympathy isn't going to protect Me. It wouldn't protect you, either. However, if you are willing to put your own self on the line and show us how it's done, I'll be more than happy to help you in your quest.
