DomKen -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/1/2013 8:05:23 AM)

BTW gamma tells me that the "no making other posters the topic of a post" rule is no longer in force.

mnottertail -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/1/2013 8:24:22 AM)

I would like to see that made public, cuz I just got pumpkin papers on that recently.

We are going to make some changes to that rule but we have not settled on the final language. It's going to be something like "not derailing the thread with making other posters the topic" or, as Gamma told you in the ticket, "being disruptive." So I strongly advise you to not consider yourself to have free reign on making other posters the topic until this is settled.

In the meantime, there are two unmoderated threads in which you may do this.

I would like to add there has always been a rule about causing disruptions that hijack a topic. This is why I suggest people not play games in the discussion forums. The game of "I can twist the rules better than you." is getting old. If people want less intrusion into discussions, then be the other part of moderation mentioned in another topic. Moderate yourselves by focusing on the OP.

Then please enforce that rule. Clear violators have been reported and no action was reported.

I stood up for the mods and said I saw no evidence of recent bias but this past week is making me regret taking that stance.

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/1/2013 11:40:00 AM)

They were enforced equally by any that made a ticket. If there was a personal attack, like a direct insult, then it was a violation. If it derailed the topic, instead of just being banter or thread drift, then it was dealt with.

DomKen -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/1/2013 12:10:21 PM)

How could the second post in a thread be drift?

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/1/2013 12:14:19 PM)

Did it cause a hijack of the topic? Was it a personal attack? Those are the first to standards that I check. If it does neither, then what violation is there Ken? The same standard is being applied and it is reviewed by other staff so we can all be on the same page. I understand you may not be getting the answer you like, but you are getting the answer on how all of us are operating on handling these things.

Thank you for your input,

It was a hijack. Five of the next 6 responses were about the troll post not about the actual OP. I've been a forum mod for a long time now and I know troll posts and I reported and all I got was a thanks and nothing done. You want to cut the fighting around here stop allowing the trolls.

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/1/2013 3:08:36 PM)

If we banned every person that anyone has ever deemed a troll, we would not need a P&R section as there would not being anyone here to post.

"There's a lot of blah, blah, blah in your response to mine because it had nothing to do with my post. ", no it dealt with some aspects that mayhap didn't suit you.

"I see old lurkers! " cool, 'cuz I see old boobies. which is good since gen Y boobies have less character.

The funny thing about the term 'troll' is that it is often (not always, merely often) mis-used to shut down people not being much of a troll at all who tend to say that "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" in terms of debate and debate rules (and rulings by moderators) or that there is no debate at all and the appearance of it is merely a literary conceit played out on a message board. But of course "what's good for the goose is good for the gander" is a rule which apparently no Congressman or Senator can adhere to this week.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/3/2013 8:22:44 PM)

if that is azzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz-cleavage then I have an ENTIRELY NEW APPRECIATION of your pic! (I did notice the zipper but there are some people whom play with home-grown fetish fashion here and they mix-up what accentuates torso with what accentuates hips)

TheHeretic -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/28/2013 7:43:42 PM)
