oh for 'that post is 25 days late' sake! [:)]

TheHeretic -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/28/2013 9:06:02 PM)

An update on Posting Style in this category (updated 10/28/13)

Catch up.

NoBimbosAllowed -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (10/28/2013 9:10:30 PM)

I caught up. You didn't catch that your post came right after mine, on the previous page, and the lack of posting style left it wide open for a one-liner.

which IS a posting style, thus still on topic.

CATCH UP and laugh-up, bruddah.

DaddySatyr -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (11/4/2013 6:49:48 AM)

Another nugget from the "Moderator Version" of this thread:

quote:

Any use of a word that shows a group in a derogatory way based on sexual preferences or kinks is not allowed. Examples of this would be, but not limited to : cocksucker, faggot, felching, felcher, nutsucker, teabagger.

More clinical discussions that use these words that are not portraying a group in a derogatory way based on sexual preferences may be allowed. If you have questions you may contact Chi or I about this.

As more words are used in violations we will attempt to update this list.

Thank you for making CollarMe a better place,
Gamma

So ... how does that bode for sig lines, etc.?

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (11/4/2013 7:06:43 AM)

If this is a question for staff, you may want to use the method mentioned in the post.

Thanks,
Gamma

I think this is a valid question that everyone should hear the answer to.

mnottertail -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (11/4/2013 7:39:26 AM)

I guess I dont get teabagger, because they have called themselves that, the fact that it is also a bdsm term is an unintended consequence they should live with, and does not mean that you are denigrating a kink.  That's my two, but.........

VideoAdminGamma -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (11/4/2013 9:46:24 AM)

Never said it wasn't, but staff do not always have the time to check the threads unless a ticket is put in and it was asked that you reply via mail. You may want to phrase the question a bit better when you mail it as well.

Thanks,
Gamma

If we banned every person that anyone has ever deemed a troll, we would not need a P&R section as there would not being anyone here to post.

QFT [:D]

Firm

There wouldn't be any mods either.

What happened then?

A new Mod arose and caused havoc for many months.
The Mod then flounced but has since returned much to the chagrin of many.

TheHeretic -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (11/9/2013 9:34:18 AM)

Sure, Hill. Much to the chagrin of many who loved the game of exploiting the system. Gang up, then run and tattle.

No, much to the chagrin of those who want people who actually know the rules they're supposed to be enforcing and can be trusted to tell the truth in charge of the place.

Remember my earlier comments about certain people who knew nothing of internet security.

You don't tell one person something and then tell others the opposite. That's called lying.

To accurately characterize matters from my perspective, substitute "relief" for "chagrin."

VideoAdminChi -> RE: Re: An update on posting style (11/9/2013 11:25:28 AM)

We have been working to update, consolidate, and generally make more user-friendly guidelines for staff. We are also reviewing section guidelines to see what needs improvement. Meanwhile:

"The administration has the authority to handle situations in whatever manner they feel to be in the best interests of the forum, at that moment, in response to that event. "

That kind of flies in the face of Mods pleading helpless when there is no specific guideline that covers something. And why have rules anyway, if it's going to be a judgment call whether or not to enforce them "at that moment"? I mean look, we've been through a lot of Mods, and things will be what they will be. That's just the way it is. But trying to justify some of it is insulting.

K.
