Yes, and sometimes it even stays on topic.

I missed where you said all their murders were by firearm.
You were demonstrating the gun control simply makes the victims defenseless weren't you?

I think you're referencing my opining that our FBI counts all gun deaths as homicides although a third are accidents and a third are suicides. Then I wondered if Scotland Yard kept track the same way or only counted gun deaths by murder as homicides. It would make a difference in discussions with the Brits because they quote our homicide rates compared to theirs. They may be comparing our murder/suicide/accident rate to their murder rate.

Bama, the major reason I carry concealed is that I philosophically believe the more honest citizens who carry concealed the fewer women raped and the fewer people assaulted or violently attacked. I believe that gun control puts citizens at risk and in servitude to the government...which is offensive to me. Every person should be able to look anyone else in the eye on equal terms.

Actually referring to your pointing out the high murder rate in Cuba.

catamite, dangle from your gibbet.  You think you are dancing but you are spouting geysers of imbecility with each feebleminded attempt at reality you clutch for but cannot grasp.  And that right there is in context.

1/3 my dying ass of anything, squirm like a fuckin maggot.

So, really farsical and fantastical opining there, sorta like pounding the old pud, and not at all like credible citation and argument (because there is no reason to belive) but a reason to deride mendacity.

if we take say, 12 milliseconds to google the motherfucker, we are deposited right there at the FBI, and they say:

The FBI’s Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR) Program defines murder and nonnegligent manslaughter as the willful (nonnegligent) killing of one human being by another. The classification of this offense is based solely on police investigation as opposed to the determination of a court, medical examiner, coroner, jury, or other judicial body. The UCR Program does not include the following situations in this offense classification: deaths caused by negligence, suicide, or accident; justifiable homicides; and attempts to murder or assaults to murder, which are scored as aggravated assaults.

yadda yadda yadda and even justifiable homicide are split out seperately on the tables.

http://www.fbi.gov/about-us/cjis/ucr/crime-in-the-u.s/2010/crime-in-the-u.s.-2010/violent-crime/murdermain

Not even hapless hooverisms there.

Besides jester...did you see where I said homicide and you provided information on murder. You proved my point...dance jester dance.

HunterCA -> RE: ***Unmoderated Gun rights debate - Self Defense to 2nd Amendment *** (11/15/2013 3:43:37 PM)

While, it wasn't my point, it was an article I tossed out for discussion.

Oh and jester, please try me for size on your gobbet. Dance jester dance.

Hunter, Cuba is a Second World, socialist state with an industrial infrastructure that's stuck in the 1950s and with an economy that's much poorer than that of the USA. To crow about the murder rate of the USA being marginally lower than that of Cuba (5.9 per 100,000 versus 6 per 100, 000 are the figures I saw) is a bit on the pathetic side, really.

Wow, you just increased our murder rate by 25%

PeonForHer -> RE: ***Unmoderated Gun rights debate - Self Defense to 2nd Amendment *** (11/15/2013 4:14:38 PM)

That could only happen in my happiest dreams, Bama.

Until your post it was 4.7, you moved it up to 5.9, that's 25%
That sounds like you think the only good American is a dead American.

You see peon, you proved my point about liberals again. You can't debate you have to insult. I threw an on topic article out to discuss and made an initial comment. It took you to come by with an inane insult to try and take things back off thread....I hear liberals all over the world applauding you. Remember what whatshername above said, girls won't like you when you act like a typical liberal. Now, do you have any point?

That's a revolting accusation and I will not stand for it, Bama. I know at least 10 and possibly as many as 20 Americans whose heads I'd prefer to see not not getting blasted to smithereens by other bull-headed, gun-toting Americans. Even you I find quite likeable at times (though obviously still a bit mad) and question your strident insistence on your absolute God-given right to get blasted into a nasty messy pulp by one of the millions of murdering psychos with which your country seems to be very richly endowed.

Oh fuck off, you ludicrous windbag [:D]. You've barely done a single post on this thread without insulting someone. You can't even bring yourself to address 'an opponent' without deliberately mangling their screen-nick. You are pompousness personified, and I know you know it.

Tsk tsk

HunterCA -> RE: ***Unmoderated Gun rights debate - Self Defense to 2nd Amendment *** (11/15/2013 4:40:58 PM)

God liberals hate being treated like they treat others. I'd actually agree with some of what you said about me peon. Except I'd say I returned insults to the unwashed who thought it their provence.

PeonForHer -> RE: ***Unmoderated Gun rights debate - Self Defense to 2nd Amendment *** (11/15/2013 4:46:32 PM)

What the feck has Provence got to do with it, Hunter? I live in the UK, not a province of southeast France.

Look, word to the wise: I'm British. You haven't a hope in hell of beating me on the pompousness front. Give it up.

Point taken, there are a small number of Americans you would not like to see dead.

I'm satisfied peon. It seems we have an understanding.

In all seriousness: I like Americans, Bama, overall. That's one reason I'm still here on CM, after all these years as a minority. I like that they're so straightforward and so warm. They're earthy in a way that we Brits generally aren't. But I don't like that they kill each other so easily and so readily. A decent, basically good man, woman (or boy or girl) suddenly is turned into an 'outsider' - he (it's usually a he) is not an American anymore, he's an 'outsider' an 'other'.

I just wish you guys would look after each other a bit better, that's all. I want to see Americans as one giant family, seeing each other all right, and I keep getting disappointed when you turn on each other. I just do not like seeing a people making a virtue out of hurting each other, that's all. You've done more than well enough now to be able to sort out the poor, ill and the mad. I don't get why it's such a virtue not to start to do that. I don't get why you lot pioneered something amazingly new and then . . . just stopped.

Does the phrase America is fundamentally flawed ring a bell.
How about we are going to fundamentally change America?
Not blaming this on any one man but the values that you say you admire have been systematically trashed for years by those in our country who want us to become France.
As with most people and societies the good is linked to the bad.

I understand your point peonforher. We're currently having an internal dialog about exactly which direction that amazing new thing should take. I'm aware that the internal dialog is confusing to outsiders. But, regardless, I believe that amazing new thing was actually a gift to us from your neck of the woods. Despite our internal dialog, many of use still see the Brits as those who we inherited this thing from.

Pretty much why the second amendment exists is because there is always someone who wants to tear down good things they don't understand.
