I live for the joy of my friends. I live to look at sunsets. I live to see my godson reach each milestone in life.

I know that it is easy to get into a very dark place when you're ill. Find the things you live for dc and enjoy them and let them give you the strength to live.

Lately I have found it to be a lot of fun to go for a drive with my great nephew. He sits in his car seat and uses his 45 word vocabulary in ways that make sense to him, and no one else.

a Few relatives who truly make the world better and worth being in

the best brush for the best vignette.

achieving the best vignette.

lean meat Hungarian Goulash

Red Snapper and ultra low fat home made chips

the chance that love at first sight will occur again, and for once, be with someone who isn't a one-person documentary on how we will use the new DSM

triple rainbows over freshly rain-lashed coastal waves where all colours are magically, NATURALLY, magnified, organically, just atmosphere, visual radiation and bounced radiation, and eyeballs. Plus the feelings on the skin from the tableau causing such events.

Horror and sci fi movies that defy lazy ass i-Wank App-wank Gen Y;s who think classic films are anything made before 1981. Guillermo Del Toro, the new Swede Horror Meisters, the South Korean film scene, the Spanish Scary Flick scene, etc.

Anytime anything that cannot be explained by agnostic/atheist science occurs.

Creeds and Lifestyles from the Bronze Age and before.

Irish and Scottish lasses' asses (if they are over 30)

Greeking a woman with a Rumba in the Bumba like two basketballs of Aeroplane jelly attached below her Lumbar.

The hope that I'll later somehow paint a portrait better than the best one I completed, years ago.

Finishing the odes I have begun,

smashing down hypocritical walls of selfish crap that are wrongfully placed around people suffering PTSD,

mocking 'lock-steppers'

the dream of someday having the NAZZZZZZZZZZTIEST azzzzzz-focussed relationship with an Israeli woman over 30

The same as above but with someone like Fanstasia from American Idol, but not just sex, I mean the whole MASSIVE chemistry/intocication-infatuation thing going on

A day when people who were oil barons have to walk 200 miles barefoot in the deserts and jungles they sought to plunder, with no break, just as they offered no break to any of the locals.

A day when we celebrate 50 years of unbroken peace and friendly relations between all branches of Abrahamic Creeds

someday finding the cast willing to go ahead on several non fanboy, anti-slasher, anti bastardized material horror/sci fi/supernatural films.

I often think about this, and others have put it so much more eloquently.

In my darker moments I live for my loved ones, particularly my son, I reach to that part of remembering the pain of loss and not wishing to inflict that on others. I also seize on the hope that one of the few certainties in life is change, and that the situation will change.

In my more stable moments I still live for my loved ones, more to share in their joy and further their happiness than a fear of causing pain to them.. In those moments I find contentment and peace and a satisfaction of having made someone's life better for a little while at least.

Lately I've been working on my own happiness, trying to find what drives me and stirs my passion for life. Sometimes it's simply watching the beauty of nature, admiring it's structure, grace and symbiosis. Other times it's simply that sharing of mutual love, spending time with my son helping him grow, or lying beside my partner and feeling close. It can be hearing others passions expressed in music or media.. It can be nostalgia and indulging in my love of scifi. It can even be a damn good chip butty...

I used to joke that the meaning of life was rather simple - "live". I still hold to that principle, envisioning that it represents the whole range of experience, the darker moments and the brighter points that appear to shine all the more for them.

I live to experience the joie de vivre, to taste the wind and kiss the sun,to ride the sensation, feel the searing salt of tasting a tear,to exult at the sound of laughter.I live to ride the lightning.

My oncology adventures have raised the question of what one lives for, and I'm curious to see how folks answer it. Please share if you feel so inclined. And let's see if we can save the snark for P&R. Thanks!

Family. That includes Master.
God
Yeah...that about covers it.

I have told Master if it wasn't for my daughter, Him and my belief in my religious values, I'm not so sure I would be alive. Living with depression and having suicidal thoughts from time to time, it's the only thing that pretty much keeps me from offing myself. I can't imagine leaving my daughter behind without at least one parent. Her dad is already gone.I can't imagine putting Master through that kind of torment, especially since I've had to go through it myself.

I live for a few things ...

There's no way to truly explain the first one. It's that moment when I'm sitting on my mountain and I'm watching the sun come up and looking at the fog coming up off the lake as the first rays just start to kiss the water.

I live to hear a little kid laugh; simple things like "Up high. Down low. Too slow" that they will do everytime, just because it tickles them.

I live to see the METS and JETS lose (unfortunately) and Alabama win (Roll Tide!).

I live for of all the people I've loved who no longer can.

When you think there may be no tomorrow you suddenly see the beauty of life all around you. Leaves blowing in the wind... deep blue sky's filled with billowy clouds. The rosy cheeks of my grandson and the dimpled smile of my daughter. You wonder why you did not see these things with the same depth of feeling before you were forced to contemplate death.

You know these things will go on without you and the thought of no longer being part of life is greater then the pain of dying. A sweet sorrowful melancholy and a sense of loss can overwhelm you. If we only could feel so deeply when we think we will live forever.

Butch

I've mulled this one over a day before replying. In no particular order: Beer. Cheeseburgers. Football. Camping. Shooting. Sex (kink & otherwise). Safety. Security. Tomorrow. That's about all I can think of. I have no clear goal in life, just to see the next day and as many after as I can.

there have been many times where I have cursed the last operation that nearly killed me, but didn't finish the job when I am exhausted from constantly battling the crap life throws at me.

if it weren't for the fact that I have my son I think i'd find it very easy to let go of this life at times. then I have my animals too. my responsibilities to my living entities keep me here. my playmate is also a great support to me too. probably much more than he realises.

I can find a lot of joy in the things around me, but other than the above it's not strong enough to keep me on this mortal planet.

I DON'T live for work,

I live for my time with my sweetie, for the skin to skin contact that we have - as simple as rubbing feet together under the table.

I live for listening to my two kids talking to each other. They are so funny and intelligent, and like each other so much.

There are times when I think life is too hard and it would be so much better if I was dead, and then I see a beautiful sun set, or a painting or a show on tv that makes me laugh, and I realize that money issues, or work issues or whatever will eventually stabilize or go away, but my life goes on.

Short answer:

I live for the still point at the end of an out-breath, then the renewed hope breathing in again.

Long answer to follow another time.

Oh yeah, Ser's post reminded me: performing cunnilingus well enough that the playmate SPRAYS in my face like a dolphin after a DEEP dive.

You've got it here in your first line but no, life would not be better...if you were dead.
