I can't imagine how hard it must be for you (and kiwi) to struggle with this condition. Not the same, but I had an older brother who had mental health issues most of his life but wouldn't seek treatment, much less stay on meds. (Used to be called paranoid schizophrenia, then renamed schizo-affective disorder.) Stay strong for your child. I know how hard it is to try to fill in the gap with a fatherless boy, so I can relate completely. We have to keep going for our children's sake no matter what.

Status: offline 		A few things. The children I haven't yet had the opportunity to conceive, carry, and raise - but hopefully will someday. The books that have been in my head for a long time but aren't yet on paper (or e-book form, these days) and published. And either there's a God, or there isn't. I'm inclined to think not but can't be certain. If there is, S/He isn't done with me, or I wouldn't still be here. If there isn't, then this ride is all I get, and I'm not yet ready to climb off.

I think I live for things similar to most- my family. Serving and loving Him give me strength and foundation, but watching my kids as they sprout wings and become adults fills me with endless joy and yearning to witness the next chapter.

I also live for those precious moments when one of my students gets turned on to science or gets that special light in his/her eyes from understanding. And what really gets me going is when a teenager thanks me for being an important adult in their lives.

So they say.
Still, I think it easy to be caught in life's problems, and be overwhelmed. And so it is good to stop and think once in a while - what we have, as opposed to what is bothering us. It feels like the problems are more - noisy?? So sometimes it is good to seek out solitude and calm, and think it over a bit.

Nature. When I am out there, I stop looking for the answers :-) I just am.

Striving for a better world. Yes, a big mouthful for sure, but you can do your own bit, just your own bit.

And when I feel overwhelmed by that, I try to go out in nature, and I stop worrying and start being.
