quote:
ORIGINAL: BamaD Citation please?? And considering we haven't had a 'king' for more than 6 decades, I think you might find that a tad difficult to substatiate. It was provided in a thread months ago, it was absurd, and I am not going to derail the thread by argueing about it. But you thought it was worth quoting it to try to make your point though? And by your own words you thought it was absurd. So why use it and aim it me? More strawman tactics because you have no real answer? quote:
ORIGINAL: BamaD And you would only have that opinion if you lived in a country that is prolific with guns. You wouldn't even be thinking along those lines if you lived elsewhere. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- So being an American makes me wrong? Did I say that? Nope. Your words, not mine. I'm just pointing out that your PoV is formed, just like mine, in the environment that you grow up in. Our views are diametrically opposed. You assumed that being an American made you wrong, not me. Guilty conscience mayhap? Or perhaps you can see the futility of your arguments. quote:
ORIGINAL: BamaD Having lived in both countries, I know where I feel much safer and not likely to die prematurely. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- And you believe that American cops want guns taken away from civilians. Where did I say that? Again, your assumtion for this thread. And yes, I alluded to it in another thread elsewhere because that was what I have been told more than once by cops when I was living over there in NC and FL. And you come from a gun-weilding cop background so I have no doubt all your cop buddies have the same blinkered PoV that you do so there's no point in arguing the case for those that don't feel that way - even those living in the US. quote:
ORIGINAL: BamaD Absurd lap in logic assuming that those women with reason to fear being killed were only killed because they got a gun. THINK!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Wasn't my original quote - it came from tj quoting DoJ. tj quoted from the DoJ, you quoted them and your rather warped answer. I quoted both of you and agreed with tj that according to DoJ, just owning a gun would increase your chances of being killed. You disagree with those findings? Fair enough. Care to quote a rebuttal from a legit source for your argument? That DoJ finding isn't rocket science ya know. More guns equates to more deaths. That's pretty simple to understand for most people. It's a viscious circle that needs to be broken, not added to. I *AM* Thinking. My family is safer here thanks. Have you lived somewhere that isn't a gun culture to make your comparisons? Are YOU thinking? Or do you only have one blinkered PoV that you incessantly put forward as strawmen. quote:
ORIGINAL: BamaD ...so yes he was saying I was wrong because I am an American. Please quote where I said that rather than twisting the words to your own agenda.
