I would guess he came here because anything even remotely like this site wouldn't be allowed in the UAE or most of the arab/muslim countries.

He would indeed, be helping to persecute his target audience rather than be a help to them.
When you can be legitimately murdered by the police just for being gay/lez and be stoned to death just for having sex without a partner's permission; it's not to be taken lightly.
