Question:

How many people are signed up under the Massachusetts Health Care Reform Act?

Answer:

97% of the population.

An do you know what will happen in a few months, Phydeaux? Tens of millions of Americans will get health care plans. Millions will pay the fine. Either way, the grand majority of Americans will be following the current laws on the books. In a few months will you come back here, and tell all of us that you were wrong? Or merely slink back into the shadows, denying to your dying breath that you ever said anything like you are now? It happened with George W. Bush on those 'massive stockpiles' of 'weapons of mass destruction' in Iraq. How many did we find, Phydeaux? Which is why in a few months, you'll be proved wrong. This is not a belief, this is knowing human behavior as it relates to laws in America. People will get health care plans. The issue with the website, while annoying at the moment, will get fixed.

So lets play a game joether.

We'll call this game rational thinking.

So I'll give you some basic clues - and then you come back and see if you can win any prizes!

So.. here's clue number one:

A). How much does community rating increase the cost of insurance, on average?

B). How much does guaranteed issue increase the cost of insurance on average?

C). How much will the extra protections afforded by obamacare cost, on average? Since this is a hard one - I'll give you a hint. Look to the CBO.

So for the first jar (an ointment that will remove shit from your eyes...):
How will it be possible for the government to do all these things AND add 30 million people to the insurance roster.

[plays the jeopardy theme song].

For the bonus round:
So the current CBO estimate is that Obamacare will cost 1.86 trillion. Of course that's a load of shit.

How much do you suppose its going to add to the costs when people don't sign up on schedule? (Hint: it begins with *b*).

Please tell me what an insurance death spiral is? Tell me, exactly, how we will avoid one since by January we will have preferentially moved sick people into government healthcare - with a good number of healthy people merely electing to pay the fine.

Ok.. And for the extra special bonus round: Tell me all that money that the people that *did* sign up for obamacare -- where is it going to come from?
Do you suppose it might supplant regular spending? Ie., if I spend $400 more a month on health care, I'll have $400 less a month to spend on other things?

So go back to lollipop land where you can make something true merely by wishing hard enough...

You want to play a game with people's lives for political points? That's not just unethical, its disgusting....

I went through two serious health issues, back to back. During that time, I had to wonder what my life would have been like in any of the other 49 states without a program like Mass Health. Most likely, I would have been bankrupt. I would have lost everything. Oh, and I would STILL have the health problems I did before, but this time, I'm over the barrel since I couldn't declare bankrupt for at least another seven years. So then I got to thinking, "How do my fellow Americans handle this and other serious health issues, without a decent plan?" What really got me: How much do they suffer, day in and day out? You have obviously never been in this situation in your life. Don't worry, your human. You'll get sick and die eventually. Question is, how much will you suffer for your political views?

What comes after this (in your post), is simply an ignorant display of gibberish crap. Your not asking questions, for the sake of looking for a good discussion or answer. Your pissed off that I've owned your previous arguments without much effort. On this topic and several others. Hence what your post is about....seeking revenge.

You tailored your 'game' not with fairness or consideration; since those are two qualities in most good Americans. But with pushing complete ignorance as fact without a clue of what your even talking about. Why worry about thirty million people getting health plans when you gloated on another thread (that you started I might add), that only six have signed up? That is not 'rational thinking'. Rational thinking would be to ask 'what will happen during the month of December of 2013'? With consideration for the ACA? You have no clue. Not even an ounce of an idea. And I'm not going to tell you either!

When you stick up somebody at the end of a gun or seriously enforced law, compliance goes up.
You either get screwed into purchasing obamacare or you get taxed into bankruptcy by the IRS because you failed at some future date to report properly report your bank account being victimized by obamacare payments.
Based on the rates that I have seen, there is no such thing as affordable in obamacare for millions of Americans.
The hoops to get help from the government to comply are excessive and for many too complicated to understand. It was designed that way.

By the first day on the healthcare.gov site that was overloaded and down most of that day. You know that 20+ states are doing this independently and they've signed up hundreds of thousands of people.

Snicker: No, and neither do you.
No authoritave figures are being released, and the overwhelming numbers of people that are signed up are not for insurance - its for *medicare*.

Congrats. We've moved people from paying for insurance to a government entitlement. Which is what you wanted all along.
Just don't pretend its insurance.

Medicaid has been expanded to cover people just slightly above the official poverty line. Why precisely is that a bad thing.

And yes we do know despite your lies and hissy fits that hundreds of thousands of people have signed up for insurance through the exchanges.

Actually, nothing states one has to comply when someone holds a gun towards them or when a law comes into existence. The murder rate and the laws surrounding the concept of murder are proof of that. Or do you want to make the foolish argument that since we have laws against murder in the United States, no one gets murdered because everyone complies with the law?

Your not getting screwed with the ACA.

If you do not wish to have a healthcare plan, you are NOT forced to have a healthcare plan. You simply pay the fine. What is the fine? You can find that information here. Seriously though, if you cant pay 1% of your gross paycheck or $95 for 2014 income tax form; I'd have to seriously wonder about your ability with financial decision making. If the numbers stay the same, it maybe more advantageous in the 2015 income tax form to have health insurance. Paying 2.5% or $695 (which ever is greater) is a hefty price to pay to deny yourself access to a healthcare plan. Is it worth your health and budget to keep your political viewpoint in check by that time? Only you can determine that.

The rates I have seen are pretty affordable, unless your looking at the gold or platinum plans. Bronze plans are pretty damn affordable. Silver plans depends on where you are located on them being affordable or not. Of course your monthly spending habits do come into play here. If your reckless with your personal budget, you will have shortfalls all over the place. Rather ironic of you to blame the government on wasting money if your that reckless with your wallet, eh? If your sensible, the benefit will outweigh the cost in the long run.

LOL... Try to focus. We're talking about you. Trying to make this about playing with people's lives is well - unethical and disgusting.
Of course when you can't logically win the argument... its always about throwing granny over the cliff isn't it.

Look, I get that you feel like a failure since you can't provide for your own health care insurance. But instead of demonizing others, accept the help you've received gracefully, and try not to raise yourself by making others accept it. Give others the freedom to make their own choices.

Question is, how much will you suffer for your political views?

No more than you. In fact a great deal less. Since *you* will be paying for my medical care when I get sick = ). Always the problem with guaranteed issue.

You've owned me? Well, pardon me while I wipe away a tear of mirth.
Rest assured I in no way feel - "owned".

LOL quite the contrary. By the way. I'm still waiting on a few quotes from you on the ACA on regulations. You know. The ones you've been dodging for two weeks now. You know the ones you wrote in your head.

Laughing .. what will happen in the month of December. Well, I've already made my predictions. I notice you haven't had the balls to set yours down.

Why don't you tell us how many people will secure insurance in the month of December - Not medicare or expanded medicare. Insurance.
Andwhen, if ever, we will get back to the same level of insurance we had before obamacare. Remember we're down 2.1 milllionpluss. And we will be losing another 50 million in the upcoming 4 months.

Personally, my predictions are they won't make the 30 day fix for the website.
They won't fix the data trsnmitall on the backend in 60 days.
They will push back signup.
they will cause issues for the irs....

I still remember one breathless dominant proclaiming how obamacare had been a smashing success.. How the websites had crashed under the enormous loads and more than a million people had already signed up.

Except that it was *all* a lie.

2713 people were enough to crash the website.
6 people signed up.

And that 30 million -- oops 7 million --target for this year? Yea.. we might hit a million.

it would be foolish to think that only six  have signed up.  The fucking government hasnt got a handle on the number, how does some cbs guy know?  I wanna see his proof.  I do not find that one rather incredulous report to be a credible citation, and certainly does not have the stones to be actual and factual.

Because I have heard in reports on NPR, more than six people who have signed up for it, myself.  some of them less insurance payments, some of them more.

Ah, what principle may that be?  because the current (and has been for some time) crop of nutsackers have no principles.  Unlike you, I am not a nutsacker politically, and; much to your dismay and smearing asswipe, I am not a democrat.

I actually have principles.

Methinks that's a good target, but we'd likely have to roll that back over the course of a few years, if not an entire decade. And, it will drastically change the way we currently run defense. I think the first thing we do is attend to Ron Paul's defense ideas and start closing most of our foreign bases. Taking a more "isolationist" approach should help cut down on our expenses, allowing for a decrease in the Defense budget.
