The words 'I am afraid of this specific woman' appear in what article? The principal stated to the news that it was because of the permit, and the need to protect the kids.

"A reporter from News Channel 6 tracked down the school's principal and confirmed the no trespass order was issued because Mount had posted a photo of the permit to Facebook"

Dallas confirmed to WJBF-TV that Mount was banned from the school due to the Facebook post.
“It is my duty and responsibility as the principal of this school to ensure the safety and security of all of our faculty, staff and students,” Dallas said.
Dallas cited recent school shootings as why she was alarmed to Mount posting her weapons permit on Facebook.
“There have been a number of school shootings in our country,” Dallas told WJBF. “And inevitably, people will say they saw signs and things of that nature after the fact.”

where do you get her being a veteran had anything to do with their decision???

if she didn't have a gun yet, the fact she has a cc license is a pretty good sign she will be getting one soon.. so cuz of that and cuz that she had been a problem before.. she has already moved her kid to another school now.. so why is she raising a stink about it now that the problem has been resolved??? (I am getting the impression the school was right about her being a problem since she is continuing to be a problem).. lucky for that school, she is that new schools problem now.. [;)]

The names of all CCW holders are public record, did the school ban any others? Or just her?

Because if they didn't do a thorough records search and take the same action, the whole 'safety of the children' excuse falls apart.

If that was the case wouldn't the principal have said so, instead she made allegations about being afraid of this specific woman.  I would like to know why she feared the mother.

She had to have some reason to pick this particular woman, and no I did not see those exact words but I did see something where she claimed to be afraid of mount

EdBowie -> RE: Banned from School Grounds for a legal activity... (11/8/2013 11:14:45 PM)

That's what I said, otherwise she would have gone after all CCW holders. The principal's stated reason doesn't add up.

Do you argue against everything, even what you agree with, just to waste people's time?

It would appear, then, that I misinterpreted, the thrust of your argument.

That's where the "scared" part came in.

Owner59 -> RE: Banned from School Grounds for a legal activity... (11/9/2013 6:35:18 AM)

Isn`t being or "feeling scared" the basis of the SYG laws?

Folks without weapons also get scared..... even of the "responsible"[8|] gun owners.....and have a right to act in self preservation too....

What the gun nuts seem to be saying is that the 2nd allows them to carry a gun anywhere they want.....and be anywhere they want, armed.

And through their NRA insane clown posse, are trying to get federal law passed that trump a state`s right to regulate firearms.

These nuts want to drive through other states with their weapons(many states don`t allow non/other-state licensed or unlicensed hand guns to cross the border) or take them into airports and on jet aircraft(what could possibly go wrong there),into churches and malls and campuses and other public places where people gather and where the town elders have made firearms prohibited.

These narcissists don`t give a fuck about anyone else`s feelings or rights....

Many states confiscate guns at the border? Which ones?

And given that the principal's stated reason falls apart, one has to wonder what information isn't in yet.

Where do you get the idea that this has anything to do with someone wanting to carry a gun on school property?

Mount is not restricted from owning a gun. She passed the background checks that were required (local and Federal) to earn her permit. There is nothing that states that she tried to being a gun on school grounds. According to GA law, she can have a gun on school property, provided it is properly secured.

If Mount was in violation of any laws, then she should accept the proper consequences. If not, then she should not have any consequences to accept.

Bingo

BamaD -> RE: Banned from School Grounds for a legal activity... (11/9/2013 10:45:56 PM)

FR

Not much if anything new other than the principal admitting that it was because Mount had a pistol permit, but the most recent thing I have found so far.

A Georgia mother is demanding an apology after being banned from her daughter's school over a Facebook photo of her concealed weapons permit.
Army veteran and parent volunteer Tanya Mount, of Hephzibah, Ga., said she never thought that her ability to carry a concealed weapon might jeopardize her ability to spend time with her daughter at school.
Speaking with local station WRDW last week, Mount said she was therefore shocked when the Richmond County Board of Education police handed her a notice prohibiting her from stepping foot on McBean Elementary School property.
"I feel like a criminal. I want I want to be heard. I want a public apology," Mount, whose daughter is disabled, told the station after receiving the notice in October.
A reporter from News Channel 6 tracked down the school's principal and confirmed the no trespass order was issued because Mount had posted a photo of the permit to Facebook.
"It is my duty and responsibility as the principal of this school to ensure the safety and security of all of our faculty, staff and students," Principal Janina Dallas told News Channel 6, adding that Mount had occasionally disrupted class in the past and was highly protective of her daughter, which raised warning flags.
Mount has since transferred her daughter to another elementary school but clearly is still troubled by the treatment she received.

I know of no "school shootings" by a parent.
I know of no "school shootings" by the holder of concealed weapons permit.

From what has so far been reported, I hope she successfully sues both the school district and the principal.

A helicopter mom packing heat? Hell yeah I'd ban her from my school if I was a principal.

If you were a principal? Hell yeah I'd ban my kids from your school.

where do you get her being a veteran had anything to do with their decision???

--------------------------

Because they asked her 2 questions.
Had she been in the Army.
Did she have a permit.

From Obama's first Secretary of Homeland Security who issued a directive specifically identifying returning Veterans as potential domestic terrorists.

And that little rant has what to do with this story? They didn't ban her for trying to carry a gun, they banned her for posting a picture of a permit online. There is nothing anywhere to indicate she tried to actually bring the gun to school. Apparently you are the one who doesn't care about the womens rights or feelings as you are simply using her experience to hate on "gun nuts"

Well they probably wouldn't call it a shooting unless there was a gun so I am going to go with all of them. Now that we have that cleared up, how many school shootings have their been where the offended had a concealed carry and was using their own legal weapons? And how many of those posted a pic of the permit ahead of time? And where in any of the stories do you see anything to imply that this women was planning on bringing a gun to school?
