I never said I wanted him to go to jail. I just think higher caliber people can avoid the use of deadly force. I also don't understand a cheering section for the use of deadly force against unarmed people.

In regards to this killing, I do have a "bias" because I think deadly force could have been avoided. If you can avoid the use of deadly force, I tend to think in terms of murder, but I corrected myself after you pointed out the difference.

You can always avoid harming someone by surrendering.
You say that you don't want him to go to jail but you keep trying
to call this a hate crime. Don't deny it shooting Green because he
was black is a hate crime.

Your bias is that, regardless of the protest you are about to post, you don't believe in self defense.

And yours is that you always think in either/or fallacy extremes, ignoring all the middle ground.

Higher caliber people? Really? Do you include yourself among them? And what distinguishes a "high caliber" person from, you know, all those "lesser" caliber people?

The quick answer to this would be THE POLICE. Police rarely shoot people and rarely kill them in proportion to the confrontations with others they have. They are trained to resolve conflicts without using deadly force as a first option.

In the case of myself, guns are off the table, so I'm resolving things by not shooting anyone. I may not survive the Zombie apocalypse but I've made it just fine so far.

So your solution would be that he should have called a time out and waited for the police. That's what the prosecutor said and the judge said the argument was invalid, it seems the judge didn't think Green would honor the time out.
