ORIGINAL: littlewonder Master feels I should return the computer but as I told him, it's not the computer. It's windows 8. I plan on getting my hands on windows 7 again and reinstalling it on this computer. OK, don't quote me on this because I'm dragging an answer back out of google that wasn't the one I was looking for. But I swear I read some consistent series of problems with network connectivity and certain laptops with win8. The implication there is that it's a bad driver for a certain wireless chipset. Yeah, win7 with it's different drivers would almost certainly solve the problem AND give microsoft less direct access to your entire life. Have you pondered unix though? Honestly, the only thing that keeps me in windows is photoshop. And I may yet give up completely and just run a copy of windows in VM just for the handful of apps I need that are windows only. But if you're just doing basic office stuff & web browsing and the like there there's unix answers out there which are secure, free, reliable, and some which are specifically designed to be comfortable for the windows user.
