Missturbation, oh,  I think English women are very pretty as well!
You look "Smashing" in your picture and I wouldn't mind having you tied to my bed anytime!

caitlyn,

I too have been to Canada, Mexico and the Bahamas all without a passport.

If it were up to me, the U.S. would stay out of other countrys affairs all together and this include, no aid, no hosting the U.N. not doing anything to help or put down another country, except possibly collect what is owed us from loans to foreign powers.  And yes my view includes eliminating immigration so they can have a better life.

I think it would be nice if more than 22% of the American population wished to go to places other than Canada, Mexico, and the Virgin Islands.

The first time I got a passport, was my visit to the UK last year. Before that, I had been to: Mexico, Canada, St. Thomas, Aruba, Belize, St. Croix & Okinawa all without a passport. Get over it dude ... Americans don't need passports, to visit the places they visit the most. Those places are Canada, Mexico and the VI. When you visit the islands in the winter, half the fucking people you run in to are Americans for goodness sakes!

It's not that I'm claiming to be an expert. You just did five minutes on Google and got incomplete and innacurate information. I did twenty minutes on a University affiliated online research tool and got considerably better information.

Now, go watch soccer, and stop being a dumb fuck ... I'm going to. [:D]

there is the crowd on the religious right,  then there is mainstream, then the fringe left.

the far right teamed up with corporate elite.....

i dont know %s.    but figure too, that many cant speak out- for fear of their jobs.

bush also overturned whislteblower protection.

consider too- that US media is controlled by the corporate elite. it is shallow- goes by the soundbite.

Hello pahunkboy,

It's work enough keeping abreast of the UK's laws, government and general idiocy...Politicians of all persuasions get met with a healthy dose of cynisism here.

I haven't a raging desire to be involved on any level and haven't a particular political *bent* either. The rhetoric we have to trawl through and decipher to find a shred of sincerity or fervour can be bloody tiring...lol

Regards, agirl

I went back and read the OP, I would say you can take it back to the vietnam war and every military action since then.  The U.S. has not gone in with a predetermined military objective nor a timetable as to when to get out.  It seems the politicians decide what is long enough for us to be somewhere militarily and not the military leaders themselves.  Last time we turned the military loose and actually declared war was WWII and that one we won vs having to leave without a win.  Sure the U.S. got some positive response after 911 but it was not the type that was sustainable and was simply a lull.  There were statements some of the financing came from Saudi Arabia and probably was stronger than the weapons of mass destruction in Iraq yet did we invade there or insist they turn over the culprets to us for trial, no, we turned our backs on it.
Can you expect the world to like us when we say one thing and then do something else totally differrently?  I can not even stand that type of action on behalf of our governemnt.   And yes, the nicest people are in small town america and they can not afford to go abroad but will still help you if need be and their opinions are not he opinions coming from the @ 500 elected politicians in Washington D.C.

You know, we're all spoilt brats. We should be grateful for where we are.

Look around and imagine where we could have been born.

Awful, dreadful places where people can't even sleep for fear of having their families attacked by groups of one kind or another.

War torn hell-holes full of torture camps and beheadings and kidnappings, murders and plagues where one wrong word can cost you your life.

or to give it a name, Detroit.

I like the analogy of standing on table in a bar it is really very accurate.

lol trust me, it's not possible for me and caitlyn to say "hello" without it descending into hell as I'm sure she'll confirm.  God help both of us if we ever appear in a hotel room together.

Especially me if she has her pimp with her for protection. [:D]

... "me and caitlyn" ... so tiresome when you Brits butcher the English language like that.[;)]

mnottertail -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 7:13:49 PM)

While not flattering, I would hardly call it improper.  You are not advocating that he says 'caitlyn and I', are you?...that would be wholesale slaughter of the language..  in this case, if he were looking to be polite he might have said 'caitlyn and me'.....but I am unclear in regards his intent in this matter, and will allow him his own words......

Just as a thought, since he is a Dom, maybe he comes first regardless of the wider social norms.........lolol.

Coming to the conclusion that only 22% of Americans have travelled abroad or desire to travel abroad, because at any given point in time roughly 22% of American hold a current passport, is connecting things that are not connected.

If European countries has something similar to The Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative, with the Laser Visa, a very low percentage of people there would have passports. Would that mean they don't want to travel, because their governments participated in negotiations to make travel easier for their citizens?

This is not longer a fact-based discussion ... just useless spin.

caitlyn -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 7:46:01 PM)

"Caitlyn and me" is a perfect example of American butchering of the English language.

"me and Caitlyn" can only be used with words like hunten' & feeshin' ... for example, "Me and Caitlyn'z going hunten; and feeshin."

Dtesmoac -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 7:48:26 PM)

Caitlyn lets ignore the lies, damn lies and statistics.
I currently travel a lot in the US. If I travel 1000 miles in the US I go from Chicago to Yellow stone. There are differences in the culture of the individual states but not to the extent of travelling 1000 miles in Europe, where I go though many different languages and social systems. I go to French, British and German factories and will find insular people that have not travelled widely, but they get exposed to very different cultural values because of the close link between the countries and the international dimension of the media. When I go to factories in Utah, Nebraska, Illinois, New Mexico, I find people that have not travelled widely but who are only exposed to very specific cultural influences and media. They are very happy to stay within those boundaries but they have very little perception outside of the USA and Mexico. The Europeans have difficulty understanding the insular nature of some Americans but they do not appreciate the lower density of population and the personal isolation that occurs.
I find it interesting that Americans seam to "study politics & international issues" more in schools than in my country ut they do not experience or understand what the differences really mean.

LOL you nut; you know we don't talk like that down here.

mnottertail -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 7:52:17 PM)

Consider.

you are adjunct to the issue. Suppose a simple case:

Who said that?

Caitlyn and I.

not fuckin likely the english language. That is butchering.

Caitlyn and me.

Since it can be further reduced to:
I.
or
me.

End of English grammer 101.

LOLOLOL.

We are always amazed at the number of people that do not understand what we are saying. My s gets really affronted by it...........
Also amazing is the number of people that actually do comment on how they like the accent and want us to say something else.........I thought that was just hog wash before I came over........but it really does happen....quite often.

Dtesmoac -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 7:54:13 PM)

Thats incorrect English grammer...............just as color is the incorrect spelling of colour...........  very smug :)

mnottertail -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 8:00:42 PM)

In the case of someone asking you, Who said that?

you would answer; I?

I will be damned. Learn something new everyday.  I would be of the opinion that at the end of the day, enough should be spelled enuf. and the ie and ei shit abolished.  So colour I know, but rarely use.

Dtesmoac -> RE: What influences world opinion on the US...does it mattter? (7/9/2006 8:04:20 PM)

No when I amd singular it would be me.  But when I am with someone else it would be I. Buggered if I understand it or can tell you exactly what the grammer terms are. I just had it so hammered into me at school thjat bthe term Fred and me is incorrect it is always Fred and I. But if someone said "who wants a free beer I would say "me".
