Blimey, the wreckage of the car is awful. what a horrid, and probably senseless way to have gone. I do hope that the guy on the other side who uses a crop of Pauls eyes and claims it's actually himself, has enough respect to stop doing that now.

I'm thankful that they didn't kill some innocent bystander or pedestrian. Reckless driving at a high rate of speed on a city street. Just great.

Get back to me when you see a photo of the Porsche they were driving. That will answer your question.

Both men died in the wreck. It is believed that Paul was the passenger, but the LA County Coroner office is awaiting dental records to positively ID everyone due to the condition of the bodies

Maybe they'll have to rename his latest sequel Fast and Infernious?

Just a note for anyone who thinks my last comment was mean - this guy made his millions glamorizing a culture that kills and maims people every single day. Not just the teens and 20-nothings who want the rush, but the complete innocents unfortunate enough to be in their path.

Let his death serve as a lesson.

His death serving as a lesson? What's the lesson...don't be a passenger in a vehicle being driven by someone else? Don't ride in a Porsche? I could see it if he was driving and there was clear evidence HE was driving like they did in Fast and Furious. But he wasn't even driving the car and the accident investigation hasn't been completed yet, so no one knows what happened. So Im not sure what lesson you are wanting what had to have been a pretty horrible way to die to serve. I just hope that he died on impact and didn't suffer being burned alive.

The lesson is don't treat the world like your own personal racetrack, and yes, don't get in the car with shitheads who do.

Don't be stupid here. Have you pulled up Rye Canyon Loop in Santa Clarita California on Google? Seen the pictures of the car?

I already emailed the pictures of the car to my nephew who just got his learners permit.

I fail to see how an insensitive remark uttered by you makes me stupid, but whatever floats your boat

Claiming that "no one knows what happened?"

C'mon, SeekingTrinity...

personally i'm always torn over these things. it's very sad that two men lost their lives. However, what is sadder still is that the driver is an racing driver in a sports car driving at somewhere between 80-100mph in 45mph zone. that car was totally smashed up and a fire ball. the very worst thing for me about all of it though is that the driver's 8yr old son was there trying to save his dad from that wreckage. that poor boy watched his dad burn all because they wanted a pointless cheap thrill that they have had many countless times before in the right places to do it. they put other people's lives at risk to get that cheap thrill in a narrow built up area when they both have access to race tracks. yes they lost their lives, and it's really sad, but it was their own fault. worse than that;

a little boy watched his daddy die in a blazing car while trying to rescue him.

I am going to have to side with Heretic on this, as the news said, speed was a factor in the crash.
The black and white photo is the crash scene where James Dean died, in a Porsche spider, and the color photos are the Walker crash scene.

Thanks to the wonderful Germans, the Porsche does not usually crumple in a crash at a normal rate of speed. You can see examples here.

Add to that the fact that they still have not been able to identify the remains, the families are gathering dental records.

Yes, Paul Walker was a good actor, a philanthropist, a sportsman and raced cars. He was one of the few Hollywood crowd that did not let fame go to his head.

While he was not driving, it is clear that the driver was exceeding the speed limit.

Yes there is a lesson here, like Heretic said, "Dont drive like the streets are your personal race track."

If you look up Rye Canyon Loop, Santa Clarita, CA on google earth, it is a fairly benign looking road, except for two sharp turns at each end. I am waiting for the report, but I suspect that the driver tried to take one of those turns at speed and lost it.

Clear evidence?   Riiight, it must have been the trees that were travelling fast enough to destroy the vehicle, not the other way around.

They were not on set and filming, they had just left a charity event sponsored by Walker, and the driver was not an actor or stunt driver, but a racing driver.
