I can not know what he was implying but if she's white I think it's fair to presume her perception was distorted as she was separated from the majority of the problems in her country.


It's not fair to presume anything about anyone you don't know. Of course you could presume every single white person in SA is a racist which could stand to reason but then we could presume that you're the one who has a distorted perception.

I'm not saying your friend is racist, I'm just saying the shit was under the carpet for the whites, I don't even know what racial group was this friend of yours.
By the way apartheid was a crime it never got prosecuted but it stands a crime, so even if homicide and theft rates raised it's less likely to be victim of a crime this days in SA.

Hmmm. I seem to have missed the fun stuff, here. Oh well.

Change in South Africa could have easily become a bloody genocide, or a horrific civil war. Under the hand of Mandela, it didn't.

May he rest in peace, after his long labors for what he believed in.
