This really isn't going to make one bit of difference. To be honest, few people even heard about this incident and most people don't really read the news unless it makes the front page in big letters or leads the tv news. Otherwise people have tuned it out.

This will be lost in all the other media stuff long before this will ever be a problem for Christie.

Seems it's been found.......lol

slvemike4u -> RE: Bridge"gate" (1/11/2014 10:25:36 AM)

To the OP and it's question...The Fat Guy's political aspirations are dead as a door nail.
He was a long shot anyway when you consider the far right hated him for allowing himself to be photographed with the President after Sandy....he was never making it out of primary season.
The far right demands a nuttier brand of politics than he delivers.

This ain't good for Christie. Part of his problem is that his appeal is to Dems and centrists. The right wing of the GOP has never liked him and was looking for an excuse to squelch his ambitions.

So the right wing of the GOP will try to push him out based on this. He's short on allies now.

Steven, and that's the LEAST of his worries!
What about all the Independents out here? We're not going to vote for him after that Illegal Alien tuition thing!
Look what happened to that senator from Fla who sided with that shit and who's name escapes me right now, he fell right into obscurity land!
The Repubs will have PLENTY of candidates to run!
Gov Jan Brewer, Senator Rand Paul,maybe Sherrif Joe Arpaio, (I hope not Rick Santorum again- BORING!) there'll be PLENTY!
I don't think Hillary will run for numerous reasons.
It's going to be extremely difficult for any Democrat after the current occupant of 1600 Penn Ave and that's if we *Don't* slide into a Depression.

mnottertail -> RE: Bridge"gate" (1/11/2014 1:50:32 PM)

There are no independents here or anywhere.

Lucylastic -> RE: Bridge"gate" (1/11/2014 2:01:53 PM)

As far as I can see, the huge"swell" to declare oneself
"Independent" has become popular for oxymorons

Owner59 -> RE: Bridge"gate" (1/11/2014 5:22:57 PM)

Lately,the extreme righties/TPers have been calling themselves "independents"....for cover really....NOBODY wants to be know as a republican....

Back on subject....Littlewonder is correct that this is local, at best....I haven`t said it was bigger accept that Hillary`s #1 competitor has taken himself out, nationally...

But thus is far from over.I heard today that two weeks ago,Christie`s office purged every single interoffice email from the system whether it was personal or business.....

That`s not going to look good,those things have a tendency to found again and or are recoverable....

There`s a lot of evidence of a cover-up and now that everyone is lit up,they`re paying attention...

This isn`t just a little nothing, with no repercussions...Federal laws were broken and the Christie`s thugs are taking the 5th when placed under oath....

There is no doubt that he will be forced back out into that box ,where he swears he only found out two days ago,to answer why he was lying when we find out he knew about this from the beginning...?

EdBowie -> RE: Bridge"gate" (1/11/2014 5:30:48 PM)

Not to mention that it's a serious felony to do that after there is a reasonable belief that they might be asked for by investigators.

Depends on what they actually did. If they deleted the emails and then over wrote the hard drives that stored them then it would take a very expensive process to recover even fragmentary portions of the files.

"Chris Christie Scandal Is An 'Impeachable Offense' If He Knew, Dem Lawmaker Leading Probe Says"

"Two days after New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie (R) claimed he had no knowledge of a political scheme conducted by his aides to cause traffic jams, the lawmaker heading a probe into those actions unraveled a new thread.

New Jersey Assemblyman John Wisniewski (D) told NBC News Saturday that if Christie was at all aware of his aides' actions, impeachment could emerge as a potential issue.

"Using the George Washington Bridge, a public resource, to exact a political vendetta, is a crime," Wisniewski said. "Having people use their official position to have a political game is a crime. So if those tie back to the governor in any way, it clearly becomes an impeachable offense."

"It's hard to really accept the governor's statement that he knew nothing until the other morning," Wisnieswki added.

He says he just found out, but was deflecting the story weeks ago.....

"Video: When Christie Mocked The Bridge Scandal And Joked About Personal Involvement"

http://www.buzzfeed.com/andrewkaczynski/video-when-christie-mocked-the-bridge-scandal-and-joked-abou

In December, Christie mocked a reporter for asking about the scandal at a press conference, joking that he was personally involved.
“I worked the cones, actually,” Christie joked. “Unbeknownst to everybody, I was actually the guy out there. I was in overalls and hat, but I was actually the guy working the cones out there. You really are not serious with that question?"

I'm surprised this hasn't come up already.
http://blogs.wsj.com/metropolis/2013/12/18/appointees-who-resigned-in-wake-of-bridge-controversy-retain-attorneys/

In short back in the fall for no apparent good reason 2 lanes of the entry ramp to the GW bridge into Manhattan from Fort Lee, New jersey were close without warning. Causing massive traffic jams and interfering with first responders in the city.

It turns out it came at the order of a Chris Christie appointee to the Port Authority. Various lies have been told but they have all fallen apart. Speculation is that this was retaliation for the mayor of Fort Lee refusing to endorse Christie's re-election.

Even for New Jersey politics this strikes me as a little too blatant. Any guesses as to how badly this hurts Christie's Presidential ambitions?

I'm sorry Dom.....ahemmmm....Ken....I just can't take anything you say seriously.

Again, I think that other than this punitive bit of politick, he could run on a democratic ticket and have a real shot winning.  He won't make it on the ballot as republican.

Its as close as they could get.

I hope if Christie is proven to have had foreknowledge of this crap, the Dems won't forget it.

The woman was unconcious. Paramedics arrived at her home. She didn't die at her home.

The paramedics, for some reason, decided to transport her without an ambulance. She wasn't dead at this point. According to the reports, they transfered her to one en-route. She didn't die during the transfer and she didn't die en-route to the hospital after the transfer.

She died of cardiac arrest at the hospital.

You recall Hillary Clinton's "Who do want to answer the Red phone at 3AM?" during the 2008 Democratic primary? Given what happened in Benghazi before, during and after 9/11/12 obviously neither Hillary Clinton or Barack Obama.

Well,your declared favorite geopee-gub`ner tried and failed, with a cover-up.

Christie?

Oh hell no. But this is a smart move by the dims. Of course the investigator appointed is a DNC contributor. The hell with the appearance of impartiality.

The dims are certainly not tarring my candidate. But they are tarring the most centrist Rino.
Good move for them.

I personally expect hillary to keep low profile till after 2014. She doesn't want to be associated in any way with the trashing that's going to occur.

She will judiciously support a few candidates guaranteed to win. She will quietly sabotage a few enemies.
Unless things start to look good for the dims - in which case she'll jump on the bandwagon.

She's cautious.

Your past gushing over him belies your present embarrassment with him.[;)]

He`s no longer the geopee`s #1 pick........which means I guess.......the official beginning of the next GOP-primary/train-wreck....

Shameful...

"On Sept. 9, the first day of the traffic paralysis, EMS crews took seven to nine minutes to arrive at the scene of a vehicle accident where four people were injured, when the response time should have been less than four minutes, he wrote. It also took EMS seven minutes to reach an unconscious 91-year-old woman who later died of cardiac arrest at a hospital. Although he did not say her death was directly caused by the delays, Favia noted that “paramedics were delayed due to heavy traffic on Fort Lee Road and had to meet the ambulance en-route to the hospital instead of on the scene.” Emergency responders also were late in getting to a third medical emergency that first morning of the lane closures. It took Favia nearly an hour to arrive at a building where a person was experiencing chest pains “due to standstill traffic on Route 46 East. The Mutual Aid ambulance coming from Palisades Park and paramedics coming out of Leonia were also delayed due to the excessive traffic,” he wrote. - See more at: http://www.northjersey.com/fortlee/GWB_lane_closures_delayed_EMS_response_in_Fort_Lee.html#sthash.27oUQClC.dpuf

On a happier note,Christie leads the NRGA and one of is top brown-shirts who`s involved, is also a member of the NRGA leadership.....

Those jobs are toast.

Not only do the republicans need a new rock-star,they need new leadership at the national Republican Governor`s Association.....[;)]

So you've now had several days to find any evidence of me supporting Romney.
And you have not.

By that I take it you are conceding your entire post was a made up lie., and since you didn't have the guts to admit it was a lie, we should understand that all such future posts by you will be made to the same standard.

Ie., you will make posts with no regard for facts or truth.

It's process of elimination, clearly you have difficulty with logic yourself.
