I am a telephone relationship counselor. I help people act out and realize their fetishes in a non-judgmental, non-threatening environment. In other words...

Don't forget also the most challenging, and the rewards are well beyond any monetary value.

MisterP61, you are absolutely 100% right! I feel sorry for any woman who didn't experience Motherhood.

dovie,

When you see President Nixon, aks him why he didn't give all the African-American white house workers raises like he promised!! It took President Ronald Reagan to do that!

As a cancer survivor who cannot have children, I always find that attitude insulting.

Thank you. I bit my tongue. Or at least tried.

I never had children and feel indifferent to it. I would have to care to be insulted.

jlf1961 -> RE: what does everybody do!? for a living/job?.. (1/8/2014 9:45:12 AM)

I am disabled, but I also help with rescuing and fostering "high risk" dog breeds such as pit bulls, wolf hybrids etc.

OsideGirl I know other women who feel the same way as you, and all I can say is
YOU GO GIRL

I actually think that this needs a topic of its own. I have friends that, through no fault of their own, cannot carry till term, and for other health related reasons cannot have children.

It seems that the "woman who didn't experience Motherhood" always refers to giving birth, and not raising a child.

MasterCaneman -> RE: what does everybody do!? for a living/job?.. (1/8/2014 9:52:48 AM)

Disabled here too (broken back & other issues), but I work part-time as a bartender and at a car dealership per diem. Once in a while I sit the counter at my friends pawnshop, too.

needlesandpins -> RE: what does everybody do!? for a living/job?.. (1/8/2014 10:05:47 AM)

I work in residential care, retrain horses with issues, and i'm an artist.

i'm a mother, and I don't feel sorry for any woman that can't have children. some aren't cut out for it, some don't want it, and some should have had their tubes tied and never allowed near a child. those that are desperate for children have it tough I guess, but I empathise with them, not feel sorry for them. if people are so desperate to have children there are other ways and means.

I raised my son, and I worked. I was lucky enough to do work that fitted around him.

While I believe being a mother is an extremely important, arguably the most important job in society, I never had any interest in it myself. My mother remembers me playing with Fisher Price family figures at about ago two, murmuring "Take the baby to the dump. Leave the baby at the dump. Run the baby over." (My sister was born when I was just shy of two years old.)

I did babysit, but mostly because there were books at my employers' houses, and my favorite gig had an awesome SF collection. As soon as I was old enough, I dumped babysitting for a gig at the library.

I have no regrets about not having children. I was married for 18 years and got really annoyed when other people tried to impose their values on me.

There was a good piece on NPR about this recently: More People Choosing To Be Childless, But Still Facing Stigma

I'm a Massage Therapist. I make people happy all day and get to take their stress away. :)
I very rarely have to deal with rude or angry people, and when I do by the time I am done with them they are happy zombies.

Shibs-Will you marry me? Be Mrs. Mystery and wheel me off into the sunset, massaging away as hard as your hands can knead?

hi!
just for fun, i am curious about what everyone does for a living? do you stay home, work outside of the home, etc?

i'm in the field of finance--and investment advisor, actually. ... a very non-submissive type of role, i must say...i work all day every day with mostly men and have to be fairly tough to hang with them and compete for business against them..i'm sure they would all die/not believe it for 2 seconds that i am truly submissive in my heart/soul.

anyone else care to share?

Bank Robber.
Stay away from anyone who went to the Wharton School or Harvard bus. school!
PBS did a Frontline story about them recently, they're insider traders and lots of them are going to jail.
In ten years you may have a "new barrista" at your local Starbucks.
And, I don't like the stock market for a lot of reasons. President Erkel, all those rotten "free trade" deals that the American People never asked for and a whole bunch of other things!
"Beware the Ides of March."
And of February and of April.
