I don't totally disagree with them, but I have the feeling that you see things from your point of view and you don't really want to move from that, several women told you that it can be really pretty awful, I had the feeling you found that amusing. I guess it's a thing that most men just don't get (just like we possibly don't get some male stuff).

Maybe if you think of the women as your sisters or very close friends, you might get a different perspective?

There are a lot of different reasons why somebody might not reply or isn't up to chat, I sometimes leave the site up and work on some other program, I might even leave the house, I might feel there isn't enough in common, usually I try to be polite about it, but to be honest, if you give a reaction, even a polite one, some guys will react in a way that's pretty awful (and those are the ones you haven't eliminated due to certain attached pics or laundry lists), I'm fairly thick skinned and the opinion of a random internet person who will call me everything from ugly, fat, stupid, etc. doesn't really phaze me, however there are days where I just don't need that shit, and there are women who might not be as thick skinned, so that is why there might be no replies.

It's not very intelligent to assume things about someone based on a few posts.
As I said, I am new to this site and brand new to the concept of online dating.

So when I saw all these profiles with these long rules I got a bit curious.
Just because I am curious doesn't mean that I write short messages or break some rules. Not that I have contacted anyone with any rules.

I get what you're saying and I ain't objecting (too much) ;)
But to again explain my opinions would be a pretty lame circle-jerk, no?

Edit: I'm guilty of one grave sin I guess. I sent a short message to a gal saying that she has a healthy outlook on life. Shoot me lol.

Look, you are on the discussion side of things, not the dating side (or meat market as most of us call it) of CM, we talk, like in a pub, we joke, we disagree, agree, pretty much like what people do who go out, quite a few of us really only come here for the forums, some might come for the forums and be on the other side because they are hoping to meet a partner. Now if it was a pub and you'd talk to me, I'd talk back, not a problem unless I am in a conversation with friends, because I'm not looking to hook up or date. Somebody else might hope to meet her prince, you aren't the right age or height etc. and she doesn't want to spend time with somebody if it isn't going anywhere, it's not that she thinks you are awful, she is just focused on something else.

Imagine you move into a large apartment building, in every mailbox you put a little note that you are living on the 15th floor in flat 1567A and would like to meet the other 300 or 400 people living in that building, how many do you think might reply or knock? Would you take it personally if a stranger doesn't reply?

Don't take this the wrong way now but that's usually what we did in the past. If a person moved into a town he went to visit everyone or everyone came to visit him (or her) . It was common to introduce oneself.

But as I've said I agree. Of course it can be bothersome.
So are you saying that a long message makes it easier to decide there on the spot if it's worth or not? Compared to engaging in a conversation?

I concede that point as well.

edit: Do you concede that most people have profiles? that a short message of interest can lead you to their profile and speed up the process , a process comparable to writing a long letter?

I agree with all ladies here that nude or explicit pictures should be sent only if a Mistress asks for them. If a short reply is sent it has to be polite and demonstrate a genuine interest in getting to know a Mistress better. And the most important thing is for a submissive is to be polite and address a Mistress properly.
Looking forward to reading proper emails from genuine submissives.

I'll be honest. I'm shocked at how many have responded that D (dick picks) happen so frequently. I always assumed stupid guys put them on their profiles but never imagined anyone would be stupid enough to just send one. Although now that I think about it, wasn't that Weiner's ploy that got him thrown out of office?

To comment on an earlier comment about how all of these seem to bother women, I would just like to say that this is why I don't contact anyone on this site, other than to make comments that have no intentions of "connecting" or producing a relationship. In other words, whenever I've contacted someone, it's usually been to comment on her (or his) profile, something he or she has said on the message boards, or just because I might actually know the person and felt there was something that might interest the two of us. When I first came on board, I tried to connect with a few women, failed miserably to get out of the junk mail they received on a daily basis, so I just gave up. Now, I tend to only respond to people who write me, and those are so rare that for a single guy, the site is easily manageable.

Very recently I was accused of being a fake and someone who was looking for money. I had simply told the person in question that I didn't think we were compatible based on what was written in his profile. It seemed a bit of an odd reaction to what I thought was my respectful refusal. It wasn't that I was pissed off by the response, but more taken aback by how disproportionate the reply was.
