Nope.  Neither.  Before I did my googling, I thought, "Timbits?  You mean like Tim Horton's balls?"

And then a bit more googling yields:

Timbits is the brand name of doughnut holes sold at the Canadian-based franchise Tim Hortons. The treats were introduced in April, 1976.

See, see!  The date!!!! Just in time for Americans to be introduced to the insidious "bits of Tim" and then try to celebrate the Bicentennial while bloated on fat and sugar (and whatever else "bits-o-Tim" makes them addictive.)

Of course, I mean the "United States of America's Bicentennial."

What did you think I meant? The Canadian one, eh?  Couldn't be since Wikipedia tells us: "The Canadian Centennial was a yearlong celebration held in 1967 when Canada celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Canadian Confederation [in 1867.]"

So, our friends to the North are what? 1867-1776 = 90 years younger than we are, eh?

ETA: Look up Canadian Centennial on eBay and you'll see (further evidence) that 'Mericans have NO clue about Canada.  The penny that was struck to celebrate the Canadian Centennial has on it "1867-1967" and even so, 'Mericans call it the "Canadian BIcentennial" penny. :::sigh::: I truly worry about the educational system here in the US.

Actually, I occasionally do. Since I'm living like 20 minutes from Ft. Erie, we get a lot of cross-border visitors. However, anytime I see the words colour, humour, or neighbour, I still mentally pronounce them with an ''ow' sound on the end, thus firmly assuring my Yankeedom. Now, I'm gonna go put on m' toque, go to the pub, and have some Blues, eh?

If you are talking about the sport, I think it would be improved greatly if those rock looking things with handles were filled with explosives with contact detonators on the edges.
