I have a hard enough time keeping up with American politics so I'm not always up on Canadian politics but I am aware of Quebec's occasional orneriness. Still, I've encountered (in RL or on line) my share of Anglo-Canadians who are as ignorant, arrogant and bigoted as any nationalistic niotwit anywhere in the world - an unfortunate byproduct of humanity's tribal nature. I've nothing against patriotism (which I define as being an informed, conscientious, citizen and rooting for your country's athletes in international competition), but I've no use for nationalism (i.e. believing the location of your birth confers superiority upon you), domestic or foreign. Triablistic patriotism, by the way, is why I am still grumping over that game (we were so close, we were so mother fucking close! [sm=gaah.gif]) My frontal lobes are starting to reassert themselves, however, and I'm starting to get over it. Give me another hour or so and I might even be able to offer congratulations. Marc, I was under the impression that superiority comes not from place of birth, but of bloodlines. Breeding is the key to a superior individual. That being said, since I am of scot, irish, english, cherokee, apache, iroquois, german and french ancestry, I am pretty much a mutt. Un cultured, loyal, viscous in a fight, brings a new definition to the term holding a grudge, mean as hell when needed, and easily entertained.... Here, hold my drink I have an idea.....

As an immigrant... I love the country of my choice.....EOS. I am a proud english woman always will be, but I AM a proud "choose ta be" Canadian citizen. THe good, the bad , the ugly...because..there are LOTS of much worse places to be, live, work and give back.

Sure, some individuals are temporarily better than other individuals at one thing or another but I see nothing in science or history to support the belief that one particular "race" or nationality is inherently superior to another.
