Personally, I feel that all the Native Americans, First nations, and the various surviving central and south american tribes should kick everyone with less than 1/4 native blood out.

But where will we go? Back to our ancestral homelands? That would be likely be the largest migration in human history. Also, where do those of us of mixed ancestry go? I'm mostly English but I've a good dollop of German in me. And what about African Americans whose ancestors were
brought here against their will?

I confess, however, that I would dearly lover to see the Europeans faces when we pull up in the boats. There we will be, all crowded together on the deck with our Bermuda shorts, Hawaiian shirts, our back packs and suitcases . . .

"Hi there everybody! Were basaaaaaaaaaaaaaaack! Did you miss us?"

Excuse me, now that I'm back in England I'm going to look up Peon to see if he can put me up for a week or so . . . you know, until I find work.

That wouldn't be a far trip for our family. Just pack up the cars and drive back over the bridge. I wonder how many spare rooms my aunt has [8D]

Dudes (and dudettes)...

You forgot about the diamonds. Who gives a shit about that nasty tar-sands oil that has to be infused with hot propane before you can get it down a pipeline. They haz diamonds!!!

yourdarkdesire -> RE: Should the United States annex Canada? (2/7/2014 8:00:42 AM)

Yes, we haz diamonds......but unless you get the Alaskans to do all the work, you won't see a single one. You pansy assed (jk) Americans would never survive the ice age-like conditions in the Arctic. I mean, seriously........look was happened whrn Texas got less than 1/8" of snow.......

TNDommeK -> RE: Should the United States annex Canada? (2/7/2014 9:27:48 AM)

I know right!!! Like five snow flurries fell from the sky yesterday here in arkansas and the whole world came to an end.
White winter death 2014 has left Kroger with no milk or bread.
Jeez these people are... *breathe* they just irritate me.

That's the southern United States. As for the Northern United States, I assure you that weather does not respect international boundaries (I wish it did).

Marc2b -> RE: Should the United States annex Canada? (2/7/2014 8:02:18 PM)

Okay, I know I give Canada a hard time over their dreadful chicken wings but I believe in giving credit where credit is due and I gotta admit I love THIS.

yourdarkdesire -> RE: Should the United States annex Canada? (2/7/2014 10:24:13 PM)

Fuck Marc......that was just hilarious!

First, it was not Texas, it was Atlanta Georgia, please get your facts straight. While Texas does not have the snow removal equipment as, say, Manitoba, what we have does do the job fairly well. Now granted, the school boards panic at a dusting of snow and close schools, thus allowing the darlings to stay home, and teenage young men with 4x4 trucks to go out and play on the ice, getting stuck or in accidents, which allows for revenues for tow truck firms and Emergency rooms.

Rural Texans are a much heartier bunch. Many Texan oil field workers have gone to the north shore of Alaska to work, and if you have ever been working fences or cattle when a blue norther moves in, arctic conditions cant be much worse.

Now, having endured arctic survival for the military, drove trucks up the alcan highway, and into Canuck land in winter, I really see no problem for most Americans working in the arctic.

However, you would be surprised what very polite Canadians will do under the barrels of mini guns, and considering the prevailing temperament of Canadians, a couple of troops of girl scouts with paint ball guns could take the country.

I'm going to presume this wasn't meant for me since I didn't mention Texas.

No Matter.

I began wondering how the U.S. and Canada measure up (men, tanks, planes, etc.) if they ever did decide to duke it out. Instead I was distracted by these interesting tidbits from history:

The Aroostook War.

The Pig War.

War Plan Red.

ETA: I had heard of the Aroostook War before but the other two were unknown to me.

jlf1961 -> RE: Should the United States annex Canada? (2/12/2014 1:51:59 PM)

I came across something in the news today, that stinks to high heaven of passive/aggressive overly polite Canadian conspiracy.

It seems a sink hole opened under the Corvette Museum in Kentucky, swallowing a number of extremely valuable corvettes.

Sinkhole swallows pricey Corvettes at hallowed museum

Now CNN does not actually come out and say it was a Canadian operation, but is it just a fluke that this happened after we started discussing the possible annexation of Canada?

I think not. This was clearly a first strike against a sacred and hollowed symbol of the American sports car.

If Obama was any kind of president, he would order a full invasion of Canada, as I said before, should only take a couple of troops of girl scouts.

You may be on to something. Is there a Tim Hortons near that museum? If there is I bet that's where the Canadians staged the dastardly deed from. There has been a noticeable increase in the number of Tim Hortons operating in the U.S.A. in recent years.
My own home town had only one for years and years but in the last five years three more have opened up. People have even joked that the place is starting to look a lot like Canada! I am now beginning to suspect that Tim Hortons is nothing more than a front
to conceal a fifth column.

Be on your guard, America! BE ON YOUR GUARD!!!!

jlf1961 -> RE: Should the United States annex Canada? (2/12/2014 2:28:13 PM)

Perhaps we should send Seal Team six or delta force into Canada to persuade (alright kidnap) their chief of intelligence, which I suspect is Lucy, and use enhanced interrogation techniques (forcing her to watch countless hours of "Here comes Honey Boo Boo) to get her to tell us just what the Canadians have planned.

Noooooo not honey boo boo! Isn't that against the Geneva Convention?

Why do I suddenly have this urge to write a neatly typed but oddly worded letter to someone in authority now?

This time of year I'm pretty sure what the Canadians have planned is "hockey". Don't worry though, I've carefully infiltrated them and my crack team of operatives (that'd be Carol and me) are keeping a close eye on the shifty Canadians.

I have never heard of "Tim Hortons," (no, really. Never!) so googled that (plus Denver) and came up with this article: http://www.denverpost.com/food/ci_14450769 written by a Denver Post writter on assignment during the Vancover Olympics. And I quote:

As of September, [2010] 2,971 Tim Hortons franchises dotted Canada. Yes, it has out-pointed McDonald's.

Tim Hortons makes up 22.6 percent of all fast-food sales in Canada and controls 62 percent of the national coffee market.

For you counting at home, that added up to $2.04 billion in 2008, up from $1.48 billion in 2005.

Started by NHL player Tim Horton in 1964, it has expanded into 11 U.S. states, the Dublin zoo and a military base in Kandahar, Afghanistan.

It's awfully noble of Canada to feed our troops, but why do I not feel comforted knowing our military is being fueled by fried dough?

And then, at the end:

going to Tim Hortons makes me feel . . . I don't know, kinda Canadian, you know, eh?

Thank you Denver Post guy for discovering (and revealing) the basis of the Canadian take-over!  Parallel idea:  I always thought that when the Big Mac was introduced (in 1969 - Gawd, I am old,) people kept coming back since there was an addictive substance in the "secret sauce."

And this just in:
quote:

ORIGINAL: MasterCaneman
But, but, I kinda like Tim Horton's...man...Eh...omygawd...

Maybe, just maybe, the Canadians are invading through diet, eh?  Some further Google research gave the history of which U.S. chains had been purchased and when TimHorton, Inc. moved off U.S. Stock Exchange (don't remember which one) to the Canadian one (where they - the enemy - are no longer under the scrutiny of the (OUR) Federal gov't.)

Lordie, lordie ..... polite? Yep!  Indisdious? Yeppers!

As above:
Be on your guard, America! BE ON YOUR GUARD!!!!
Be on your guard, eh?

Edited for spacing, clarity and such.  But NO edits to correct spelling errors such as "honour," y'know?
