They always seem to forget that part . . . or when they do remember, then it was Britain, not Canada (it is only Canada when they win).

It warms my heart to no end to see my northern neighbors being as arrogantly bombastic and jingoistic, as too many of my fellow citizens. I sleep better at night knowing that humans are the same all over no matter what label they ended up with.

Yes Marc...in the end they are our brothers and sisters born of the same people and forged by the same world events and forever bound together like it or not...mostly I like it.

They can't talk about their own politics here. Almost noone south of the border KNOWS Canadian politics (aside from maybe the Mayor of Toronto)!

I may have to follow up my own idea and write a book on the American invasion of Canada..................a la Harry Turtledove. I have a feeling the Canadians might use the Russian tactic and rely heavily on General Winter. Any of you American or Canadian vets have any ideas I could throw in there ? And what years I could set it in ?

Thanks Tantriqu. I will look for those next time in the library.
I was thinking of setting it during the (Un) civil-war, when both sides would possibly have been more evenly matched and the Canadians would or could call on a whole lot more allies
