R.I.P. Republican credibility: Why their latest blatant lies show they've given up

We’ve long argued that the Republican Party is no longer a legitimate governing party. Never mind whether we agree with them on any particular policy issue, they are simply no longer a serious organization.

That fact was underscored again this week and over the weekend, in light of the release of two different official reports, one from the U.S. State Department on the proposed Keystone XL Pipeline project and another from the Congressional Budget Office on the economic outlook in light of the Affordable Care Act.

Never mind whether you agree with the Republican position on either of those two policies. The fact that the party feels it necessary to blatantly lie about what’s in each of those reports, specifically with regard to “job creation,” in order to advocate for their own policy positions, underscores yet again that these are simply not serious people are worth being taken seriously anymore …

so weve got the xl pipeline, unemployment aid being cut off, the farm bill cutting s800, 000 per year for next ten years for snap and billions in subsidies. all being lied about.
Dumbarses with zero comprehension abilities falling for them hook line and sinker, then screaming them loud and proud and whinging when called on it
its hysterical.
you would think they were part of the one percent, not working joes like everyone else.

MrRodgers -> RE: R.I.P. Republican credibility: (2/7/2014 12:13:34 PM)

However, it continues today as Boner had a news conference this AM shown on C-Span where he said the ACA is going to cost jobs. This when in increase in demand for health care because many more people will actually have it, will create thousands of jobs.

DaNewAgeViking -> RE: R.I.P. Republican credibility: (2/7/2014 12:16:04 PM)

Lucylastic -> RE: R.I.P. Republican credibility: (2/7/2014 12:25:42 PM)

Ive given them all the chances IM willing to
its been lies from them since june 2008,
99.999% of them have lost whatever credibility they had. not that pols of any party have any credibility anyway.
but so many uninformed, lying, idiots scrabbling for more lies to cover their own parties deceit ridden bullshit.
There are maybe three republican/conservatives with ANY credibility in my life now, and that is the way I think it is going to stay.
I need liars and gullible idiots in my life like I need a spork up my nostril

KXL comments:

According to the Presidential Permit application, as reported in the State Dept's report, most of the oil transported through the Keystone XL would go to Gulf coast area refineries, not shipped overseas.

The increased amount of crude we would be refining received through the KXL wouldn't likely reduce our dependence on oil, but it would reduce our dependence on oil from less stable countries.

Obamacare job killing comments:

That there are people who believe any politician in the US anymore amazes me. The GOP "mischaracterized" the CBO report. That's a very nice way of saying they lied for political gain.

What was really funny about the article was this line:
    quote:

    But when you’ve got to lie, repeatedly, about demonstrable, independently verifiable facts, then you are not a legitimate advocate that deserves to be taken seriously.

I guess the Democrat Party is no longer "a legitimate advocate that deserves to be taken seriously," either.

the most disgusting slop going thru the pipelines is such a wonderful idea overland Canada and the USA ... with the attraction of how many jobs longer than two years?? 200-300 at what cost?

its not like there are ever any oil spills.

well you will have to ask the writer of the peace, Im really not a mind reader...
by the way, they lied with relish, but you notice that no one came back to back up that _"mischaracterized") bullshit. not one of the repubs posted to that thread.

Kana -> RE: R.I.P. Republican credibility: (2/7/2014 1:46:06 PM)

Ha-The mistake is thinking that either party has any fucking credibility.
Both will lie for any and all reasons. Electability, to help the party, for personal profit/power, whatever.
Anyone who thinks otherwise is either painfully naive or ridiculous stupid.

The only thing any of the bastards care about is staying at the trough, continuing to feed at the gravy train.

It kills me to see people swallow the inter party fingerpointing. The party politics and blame game and surrounding theatrics distracts from the real issue-that they're all a pack of lying jackals, gnawing on the countries bones.

Lucylastic -> RE: R.I.P. Republican credibility: (2/7/2014 2:01:49 PM)

LOL Ive never stated that the dems have... I dislike almost every pol there is,and distrust ALL of them, from three countries....
im in a sadistic mood... with no one to play with, I keep it here in P&R mostly.....
its a tiny outlet but im really not pretending that dems are making me happy, its just that only one republican/conservative person makes me happy...the rest i can do without.
having said all that......
I dont disagree with anything you said:)

There are plenty of refineries closer to the oilfield than the gulf coast. The only reason to move the oil down there is to refine it for shipment over seas.

Yeah but this whole finger-pointing, "It's their fault," No it's theirs" accomplishes nothing except to distract us all while they rape the nation.
It's downright freaking damaging to the nation at a whole.
Maybe, just maybe, the people will stop listening to the horseshit and realize that both sides are the problem, that both sides have created the current situation through decades of neglect, mismanagement, short sighted decision making and outright corruption.

Neither side has clean hands and both are guilty as sin. Posturing to the contrary is dali-esque absurdity at its finest.

All their asses need to go.
Dems/Repubs. Right/Left. Blue/red. The one thing we know for sure is that they can't govern for shit-all of em. They've had more than ample opportunity to prove that over and over again.
